I'm just curious! It's never been explicitly stated, but I've come to the conclusion that legs must last a minimum of 4 days and a max of 5 (unless exceptional circumstances happen like the typhoon).

There's a few episodes where teams have been adamant they must get to checkpoint that day and will suddenly fork out on taxis etc, when realistically they could just wait and get a bus and arrive the following day. All the teams sign in within a day of each other usually, but if there was no rule we'd see teams potentially spending longer on legs where they could earn more.

I'm assuming this is so production have enough footage per leg and to coordinate a film crew at the arrival destination.
