I always told myself I could win. After this season I know I could not win

I would not survive Mongolia. I am too engrossed in first world problems that I would honestly just give up.

I have the food palate of an autistic 8 year old so I would die of starvation before I gave up. As stunning as Mongolia looks that level of stranded would wear my patience out and Ive realised that it is time to stop deluding myself.

I'm probably not winning this show. Any other first world problemers with me?

Kush says father not late father.

If I had just seen this episode..I would think his dad was at home. He looked jolly when he said ,my dad would be happy I did this.

I am a grammar guy and in my culture,we use the "late"..

Am I wrong or just too invested

Rule about minimum number of days per leg?

I'm just curious! It's never been explicitly stated, but I've come to the conclusion that legs must last a minimum of 4 days and a max of 5 (unless exceptional circumstances happen like the typhoon).

There's a few episodes where teams have been adamant they must get to checkpoint that day and will suddenly fork out on taxis etc, when realistically they could just wait and get a bus and arrive the following day. All the teams sign in within a day of each other usually, but if there was no rule we'd see teams potentially spending longer on legs where they could earn more.

I'm assuming this is so production have enough footage per leg and to coordinate a film crew at the arrival destination.

Just finished season 3, and it was so obvious who won

I just got done watching season 3, and it's been brutally obvious all along that >!Tricia and Cathie!< were the winners. It showed them all along discussing what the money/win would mean to them, and mentioned >!Tricia's eye problems and the medical scares back home!< so often that it was obvious that production wanted it to be easy for the viewer to sympathise with them and like them. Nothing against the winners themselves, the two of them were lovely people, my only issue is that the outcome was so obvious all along. Anyone else feel the same way?

Why do they hide the rules?

I think most people agree that there are some secret rules requiring teams to do certain things each route and forbidding them from going on certain routes. But the annoying thing about this is that without informing the audience of these rules, we can't ever really understand how much each team is actually responsible for their own success or if they were just given bad options.
As Mark and Margo are way behind and might not be able to finish the race, we have to wonder if one of the teams was always going to have to go to this out of the way place and forced to spend loads of money and time backtracking etc.

It seems clear (not sure if it has been confirmed) that teams must do so much work and so many home stays and do so many tourist activities during their trip. It also seems clear that the routes are chosen by production. (Otherwise the leg crossing Turkey would have been doable in half a day)

Someone in another post said that the German version made it clear that they had 4 route choices and the teams got to choose which of the pre-arranged routes they would take based on the order they arrived at the checkpoint. If this is the case, why do they pretend that each team starts each leg by looking at a map and deciding how to go? Just tell us what rules the teams must follow and then we can understand their decision making.

Do most people just prefer not knowing the rules?

Margo and Mark

I honestly feel so bad for them. It would be such a shame if they didn’t get to finish.

They’re probably my favourites this year, I have a real soft spot for them and last nights episode made me feel so sad for them.

They’d been doing great up until that point. Hopefully they can pull it back and make the last leg of the race one to remember.

The teams plan their routes the day they leave the hotel (supposedly) but then it all depends on transport and how far they can get. Yet when they arrive at locations and "strangers" homes, the locals have put on live dancing and music in the community hall. How did anyone know they'd end up there?

Best earlier seasons?

I only got into this show last year so this is my second season watching it. I loved last season as I'd been to a lot of the places they visited. I'm really enjoying this season as the people are all likeable and the route is spectacular.

I'm going to go back and watch at least some of the earlier seasons. What's the best one to start with?

Mark and Margo have honestly surprised me so far

I genuinely thought they’d be the first pair to completely fall apart after all the chalk and cheese bickering early on, but their slower holiday mode approach actually seems to be working for them

Due to Eurovision, RatW episode 7 is on TONIGHT at 8pm

Did they announce this after last week's show? Because of the Eurovision song contest this week's episode is on tonight rather than its regular Thursday slot!

Be sure to set your vhs/avoid spoilers/plan accordingly.
