Misinterpreting job descriptions
What do you mean that I don't have to meet all the requirements?
What do you mean "one year's experience required" actually means "we want someone who's done something like this before"?
I'm not quite entry level but I'm definitely not senior either, so when I see a role like "Communications Officer" I'll immediately go "they want someone who is quite extensively experienced" and swerve it.
I rejoined LinkedIn the other day (my employment advisor felt I was missing out on opportunities) but I know it's going to take a while for it to take hold. It's a bit frustrating, even though I know I'm doing all the right things.
