If The X Factor was on air this year, who would be invited to perform on the result shows?
It's tricky to pick artists that are widely known what with streaming diluting everything, but at a guess:
- RAYE
- Olivia Dean
- Lola Young
- Harry Styles (probably all the boys in all honesty)
- Taylor Swift
- Lily Allen
Times when Judges and Contestants didn't get on
What judge-contestant rivalries stick out in your mind?
Sharon and Steve Brookstein famously had a bad relationship while he was on the show, and that's extened to Brookstein not liking any of the judges now.
Tulisa and Christopher Maloney also didn't jive with each other.
There was a bit of that with Cheryl and Danyl Johnson in 2009, but she seemed to ease up on him as time went on.
Which ones stick out for you?
How did they narrow down the applicants?
Take 2009.
200,000 people applied, but probably about 300 got to the judges? This was the last year before you could apply via video too.
I'm really intrigued as to how big that operation must have been, cos it's basically "you're either very good or very bad" that gets you through.
In 2011, the finalists recorded a cover of When You Wish Upon a Star for the Marks & Spencers Christmas advert
I'm surprised it took until the following year for the "autotune scandal" to kick off
A performance that gave you goosebumps the first time you watched it
I really liked Aiden Grimshaw's Mad World.
The last time I felt this overheated was Matt Cardle trying to maintain eye contact with Rihanna...
Most memorable audition?
Jamie Archer, Danyl Johnson, Cher Lloyd all immediately come to mind.
