I see a lot of posts mainly calling out the behavior of the women of this season to the point where most of the men’s behavior have gone unnoticed/forgotten.

Samraj: Stating the obvious here but is disdain for Priya is actually concerning. This is love island not manosphere island. He’s not the only misogynistic person this season or in past seasons but the “nice guy” trope that he continues to force is so baffling to me. His feelings for Mica are contingent on her not steering away from the ridiculous standards and ideal that he has for women, and her being impressionable and non confrontational is getting the job done.

Lorenzo: Creates a ridiculous rule of not making coffee for his couple yet most likely expecting intimacy? YUCK. I don’t care if he makes a better friend, it’s not that difficult to respect the girl you’re in a couple with.

Simba: His reaction to Mica saying no to the hideaway. Emotionally manipulating Angie by mentioning God. Threatens to leave the villa if Angie leaves even though he brought Mara back from casa? Putting Angie in embarrassing situations time and time again and once she’s finally had enough… what does he do? Says a speech declaring his devotion to Angie in front of everyone therefore pressuring her into taking him back.

Aiden: GIMME A KISS. His ability to try and s*xually shame Priya even though he’s been begging for kisses within 5 seconds into getting to know a girl? Yeah he overstayed his welcome.

Kav: The way he’s toyed around with Charleen’s feelings and basically future faking is emotional manipulation. He did the same to Jasmine but she’s in too deep to realize it. I did not like how he handled everything once he came back from casa and he felt justified by his actions because he’s too afraid to admit that he’s insecure. He did both women dirty and hardly got any flack for it.

Tommy: Potential girlfriend on the outside? Yet all I see are posts calling out Priya/Jasmine/Julia game playing?

The unusual high standards that we set for women on this show compared to men is utterly exhausting. Split the $50k between the girlies at this point.

I'm curious if Jasmine will be the first LI UK islander in a while to hit 1M+ followers (I don't think anyone's hit that number since Ekin-Su's season unless I'm wrong). But it's wild how much LI UK engagement has fallen compared to LI US. Even last year's LI UK winner struggled to reach 800K even after a whole year.

I actually think Jasmine's numbers would've been higher if she'd either coupled up with Lorenzo or kept the same "baddie" energy she had at the start - that's when she was gaining more followers. Instead, the producers seemed to convince everyone the public hated her and she toned herself down for Kavan (when it's the other way around, everyone hates him).

Yasmin has attracted a huge amount of negative attention because of her involvement in an MLM. Personally, I could’ve got behind her if it wasn’t for that, I have no sympathy for people who make money through what is a scam.

What’s interesting is that Love Island has had contestants in previous series who reportedly had partners shortly before entering the villa, and production has rarely seemed eager to highlight it. Yet with Tommy and Yasmin, they actually just fully brought it into the discourse.

My guess is that the backlash surrounding Yasmin’s MLM controversy made producers wary of having them as finalists (or potential winners, but I don’t think they are potential winners tbf). Once they realised public opinion had turned, they may have decided to steer the edit in a different direction. I’ve also heard claims that Yasmin herself had a partner shortly before the show, although I don’t know how accurate those rumours are.

Of course, it’s also possible the producers simply thought the storyline made good TV rather than trying to stop them from winning.

What do you think? Was production deliberately trying to weaken Tommy and Yasmin as a couple, or am I reading too much into it?

Honestly I don’t really think any of the couples are strong enough even at this point but I do think Simba and Angie are the most deserving of the win, Angelista in particular. She has carried herself so
well throughout the show always stayed true to her feelings and although Simba has definitely NOT made wise choices, he has brought us nothing but pure entertainment and he TRIED his best to win Angie back he actually grovelled his way back to her. I think these two have had a journey in there that is deserving of that win.
I do like Julia & Lorenzo and love Jas & Kav but unfortunately I just can’t forgive Kavan for his actions in Casa I’m still not over it.
Who do you think deserves the win? I honestly can’t tell who will win this year!

The show's losing its spark. The last week of a typical season usually includes a lot of 'feel-good' challenges like the talent show or the baby challenge. This season, we have had nothing at all. The only challenge we've had was "Not Another Podcast", and that was created to incite more drama.

Now I don't know if this comes down to the show being broke or the producers shifting their attention to drama rather than joy, but it's really ruining the enjoyment of the show. The reason why the "glory" seasons of the series are considered as such is that they had a good balance of drama and fun. We actually got to see the Islanders be themselves. Now, if we want to see an ounce of personality in these Islanders, you need to go watch Unseen Bits.

I do think this approach has done two things:

1. The show isn't enjoyable to watch because they're essentially on repeat. We only see the Islanders, for the most part, in the main Villa, and barely anywhere else. The lowly produced games/challenges are in the Villa and are also there to create more drama, which then goes on to us just seeing more scenes of the Islanders, still in the Villa. There's no change of scenery for either the viewers or the Islanders, which makes the experience unpleasant for everyone.
2. We don't actually get to see much of the Islanders' personalities. A lot of people don't tend to watch the Unseen Bits, meaning what the audience sees in the main series is all they have to have a grasp on their personalities. This is an injustice to the Islanders because the small scenes where we get to see the Islanders' personalities (whether that's through conversations or light-hearted challenges), we just don't have at all. I think this now coincides with the amount of hate we see towards the contestants.

I do think the producers need to find some sort of way to bring back challenges that are just a bit of fun for the Islanders and the audience, and steer away from the heavy focus on the drama, as it's just unpleasant to watch—especially considering that this is the last week, and each episode has been so drama-heavy (including the upcoming Sunday night episode where the ex-Islanders return). The show's just losing its spark, and it's coming down to the fact that the Islanders aren't having any fun.

Thoughts on the “rumors,”

He said, it ended two weeks before entering the villa. And they broke up amicably, and it's “sweet,” whatever that means! So basically, he applied while he was still in a 10-month relationship.

The streets have been saying, besides the MLM job situation, Yas got out of a 3-year relationship couple weeks before entering the villa!
They might be the perfect polyamorous couple!

One thing I've actually really appreciated about Julia is that she's probably the only one who wasn't sweating about what was going to be shown. Whether you agree with her opinions or not, she's pretty much said the same things to people's faces as she has in the Beach Hut, on the podcast and in conversations around the villa.

Compare that to Jasmine and Mica (and even Yasmin tbh), who seemed a lot more worried about what might come out. I think that's because when you're saying different things to different people, you're naturally going to be anxious about what edit is coming next

Julia didn't really have that issue. Even the clips that were meant to be "damning" were basically just...her saying exactly what she'd already said to someone's face.

People can call her rude or opinionated, and fair enough if that's your view, but I do respect that she owns what she says. I'd rather someone be upfront than nice to your face and different behind your back. I actually think this podcast twist has made that pretty clear

Every contestant has grown up watching/knowing about the show, S1 was over 10 years ago. The current contestants were in their early teens this show has been a semi-major part of UK culture for half their lives.

Never has the discussion about what the public thinks and how the show works been spoken about this openly it feels like the entire thing has jumped the shark. The major plot points of the last week have all been based around who is faking what for public approval. Its like the show is eating itself alive.

I don't know how they change this because people are well aware you can launch a decent B/C list celeb career from it and cruise by on random brand deals for life if the public like you so most go in trying to achieve that not love which breaks the whole format.

Some won't care and may enjoy it being a pure reality TV show but in the past there were genuinely sweet and fun moments between people falling in love and even just a group of people becoming friends. That's completely gone, the vibes are awful 90% of the time and it's no longer a pleasant show to watch.

I feel it needs a major revamp in format and the producers taking a backwards step. Put the unseen bits back in the regular episodes and except that not every episode will have a huge cliffhanger but it will build a better show if you allow it to flow at its own pace.

Mara did a recent interview saying Lola had every right to be upset with Julia because at the end of the day he said he’s closed off and out of all six girls, Julia was the only one who decided to pursue him. This was definitely Julia‘s strategy, was probably Julia game playing, that the easiest way to get into the villa was to go for the man who kept saying he needed a test. Thats most likely why she kept bringing it up inside the villa too. She definitely thought he was an easy target and was annoyed he wasn’t. So for everyone deciding Julia was right about priya aidan, the biggest game player is definitely her. she’s seen all our comments before entering the villa, who we hate on, who we love and has always picked on the least popular people in the group.

Mara said she was so confused with the whole lola situation because she saw Lola and Julia speak so many times and Lola would always compliment Julia alot and was so nice to her and in between all that Julia would confront her with some random bs and they would have a good conversation after and they would only put that bit in to make it seem like the only interaction Lola and Julia had was negative they made it seem like lola never spoke to her and was mean to her for no reason 😭 I would be too if someone kept switching up every 2 seconds

I know age gap relationships exist. Lots of successful ones. But I don't see Kav & Jas lasting. She's nearly 30, he's what just 21? Yes, he's more mature than Aidan. But I still think he's immature. I think he's just blinded by her beauty. When they were showing the clips of Jas crying, like her mum had been murdered. Kavan had very little reaction to it, I thought. I also think Aidan could possibly get in the way. He doesn't seem emotionally intelligent for Jasmine. She fell hard and quick. Unfortunately, we don't see the relationships form besides the kisses. I wonder what his qualities are? What's so amazing about him.

I just wanna say there have been times where I have absolutely gotten annoyed with alot of them as Im sure you all have. There’s people we like and people we don’t like. Some people would be annoying to be around irl and it hasn’t been squeaky clean and rainbows and sunshine but all in all, what a cast this season you guys!

What a charming, funny, dramatic, authentic, annoying but likable group of people. Even when they try to scam and manipulate, it came off either authentic or likable 😆 I have genuinely adored watching this group (even enjoyed the unseen bits this season cause usually its such a skip for me).

And It seems to be controversial but I actually enjoyed this group and their personalities more than any other group (even s5 and s8 and 10) I feel like no one was boring and everyone brought something to the table. Will kinda miss watching them all together on my screen🥹.

I've been seeing alot of people talking about how the dynamic between the girls is different since Julia came in. Although i do think her constantly feeling the need to give her opinions is draining,idk why people are making it seem like all the girls were all besties until Julia came and ruined it. I think the only reason they seemed to get along so well is cuz Angie and Priya never held any grudges. Specifically Priya...she's tolerated alot and on movie night not only did her "friends" not defend her,they were there on screen laughing with these men(Samraj and Jordan) having her look stupid. All the girls had to do was apologize once and she instantly trusted them again. You can tell she seeks alot of validation from Jasmine and Mica so having them constantly encourage her to stay with someone who's just gonna waste her time is definitely weird since they've done that before and saw how it upset her.

It shouldn't take Julia coming in and stating the obvious for you to sit your friend down and let them know that Aidan isn't someone she should seriously consider. So no i don't think Julia ruined the girls "sisterhood",she kinda just highlighted a problem that was already there. She's kinda rude about it though,so i see why people don't see it that way.

They girls have obviously all moved on from whatever they had going on,which is good but they also don't really hold eachother accountable so forgiving and forgetting for the sake of being close seems the most fitting.

Just paying attention to the wording, they didn't say only that the couple with least votes will be dumped, they said the viewers can choose to SAVE ONE COUPLE and they repeated it on the show, that the viewers chose to save one couple. But we didn't actually save one couple, they didn't dump two. So I'm thinking, maybe we didn't save them - yet.

Maybe it could be connected to Sunday's dumping, that Julia and Lorenzo will be saved or excluded from the dumping on Sunday, while the couple who was in the middle out of the three, Mica and Samraj, together with all other couples in the show would be up for dumping. Or it's just semantics and I'm tripping hehe

Honestly if that's the case I can see either Mica and Samraj getting dumped (since the Casa girls didn't like Mica from the "that girl" comment) or honestly Jasmine and Kav...

What do you guys think?

All the girls have been saying that Julia keeps going and going and going (sorry if you’re her fan, I’m just saying that’s what multiple people inside the villa and outside of villa have been saying) and now when she’s in the hot seat..suddenly she’s like I’m over it and I don’t wanna discuss anymore.

Can she not understand where the other girls are coming from after sort of experiencing her own medicine?

I would respect her if she just admitted to constantly and needlessly inserting her opinion when it’s not warranted, but she doubles down.

Because the moment they speak out in Julia's defence like Simba just did, standing against the clique, he's suddenly a game player who's only backing Julia because apparently he somewhat guessed that she might be popular with the public from one clip.

Even Lorenzo wasn't spared; the untouchable public's favorite is all of a sudden a game player for defending his own partner for once.

All because Simba and Lorenzo dared to back someone the rest doesn't like. Yeah, I don't blame Angelista for staying silent, this girl just wants to leave this place in one piece and I fully respect that.
