Ranking Every English Speaking Traitors Player: 80-61

And we're back again with another part of this crazy project! I want to apologise quickly and say I'm sorry this took a while to come out. I haven't been too well recently so I took some time to recover.

Just my normal warning to be nice, don't make personal attacks and keep it show focused only. I do reference some out of show stuff here but it's mostlty just for context. Let's go!

80: Derrick (US3): So I quite liked Derrick. I’m generally a bit critical of US3 and its late additions but Derrick was by far the best of the three. He did clock on to the fact that Boston Rob was a Traitor while being significantly less infuriating compared to Wes but ultimately he was viewed as being a big threat and BR needed to take a bit of a risk in order to have any chance of surviving so he was murdered. Derrick gets bonus points for being the only member of the cage trio that didn’t let being a late addition go to his head!

79: Jason (NZ2): Jase was good! He was good fun and I loved the Pacific Ring of Fire alliance generally, it’s among thje most effective social alliances in traitors history and Jase was one of the key members. He had it fully figured out by the last episode but sadly it was too little too late and he was banished just before the big reveal. Gameplay wise, he probably shouldn’t be up this high but I really liked him and NZ2 has one of the most interesting group dynamics in traitors history so everyone naturally gets a bit of a boost.

78: Tom (US3): I must preface this by saying I have no idea who Tom is outside of the show. He’s apparently controversial but unlike Rappaport (who I know is genuinely awful) I have no idea what Tom has done because I don’t generally watch US reality TV and I’m not American, my list is based on the show only! Anyway, I found Tom very entertaining and  because his gameplay was so unpredictable, he managed to get away with not being murdered for a long time. The dolls mission was a highlight!

77: Kristen (US4): In a season as drama filled as US4, I think people like Kristen add a lot to the season. Pretty good at the game and just managed to stay pretty steady. From the statistics side, she was very good as she voted for 3 out of the 4 original traitors and also became suspicious of Eric who was recruited as a traitor. She also made some good alliances with the likes of Mark and Eric and overall, I would easily take someone a bit more low-key compared to the ahem much more challenging personalities we got in US4.

76: Brittany (NZ2): One of the best players objectively from NZ2 and it’s a shame she didn’t make it a bit further. She heavily campaigned for 2 traitors with those being Jackie and Whitney and stands out for being one of the only players from NZ2 who openly wanted to play the game as a faithful. However, there is such a thing in this show as going too hard to early, and Brit was definitely a victim of that. Perhaps not to the extent of say Brodie from NZ1 but definitely seen as a threat so was murdered very quickly. A fairly short run but a good one!

75: Leroy (CA1): On a statistical level, John Cena is one of CA1’s best players. He voted for all four traitors and the endgame pretty much came down to him vs Mike. One thing I don’t think is talked about enough is people who can get through the game pretty easily because they’re good at missions and John Cena is definitely an example of that. So surely he should rank higher? Well, I just don’t find him that interesting until the last few episodes. It isn’t until it becomes clear that the endgame is going to be between him and Mike with Gurleen more allied with Leroy but possibly changeable that I think he becomes more interesting. Him and Gurleen were pretty much ride or die up to that point but somehow Mike actually managed to swing her vote. I don’t think Leroy could have done anymore, Mike just played well.

74: Ivar (US3): A very underrated winner. We often talk about how to play an ideal wallflower faithful game, and to find it? Look no further than Ivar. Ivar played an incredibly quiet game largely focused on being in the background and building up a few very stable alliances. He voted for all 5 traitors and statistically is one of the best winners of all time. However, because of his gameplay style, he’s about as interesting as watching paint dry until the last episode where I actually quite enjoyed watching him in the helicopter mission. I’m also not counting out of show stuff but being involved with Cambridge Analytica isn’t a great look.

73: Eric (US4): A really fun player who added a lot to the season. A voting record of 4 before being recruited makes him have one of the highest hit rates in the US version and he had a fairly solid run as a traitor too. You will learn as we go up this list that there’s a certain winning traitor that I’m not necessarily a huge fan of so it’s a shame Eric couldn’t share the prize money. Hell, I thought Eric did really well to survive until the F3 considerig he had heat on him for almost the entire time he was a traitor, he did more than enough to share the win and I would love to have seen him take it. But hey, that’s the game!

72: James (UK4): Pure chaos and I absolutely loved it. I often talk about how I’m not huge on super drama heavy players but James brought chaos without detracting from the atmosphere which was good. James really wasn’t great at the game at all, he largely survived as long as he did because he always had some level of suspicion on him and ultimately confused everyone a lot. However, he was grwat fun and has some all time iconic moments such as his legendary ‘Tigger needs to run’ comment.

71: Frankie (UK3): Similar in vein to Leroy, Frankie is one of those players who doesn’t really become too relevant in terms of gameplay until the final few episodes, but she does have a lot of stuff going for her even before that. She acted as a genuine support for Freddie when it just seemed that he was getting heat from every angle and she from the chess mission onward where she got very underestimated, she started to get a lot more screen time. It’s a shame she didn’t work with Alexander a bit more to clear him in the eyes of Jake and Leanne because I think a four faithful win was actually on the cards here (especially if they'd revealed roles). Ughhh, I hated the seer so much, it ruined what could have been one of the best endings in traitors history.

70: Sandra (US2): I liked Sandra a lot considering I had no idea who she was before watching. I think using Parvati as a traitor angel was a really good strategy and it almost got her to the end. She voted for all four traitors and overall was just pretty good at the game. I haven’t really watched Survivor but Sandra features in the only non UK season available to watch in the UK so maybe I’ll have to give it a shot. However, I do prefer Parvati (we’ll get to her at some point).

69: Nick (UKC): It’s a shame Nick is now mostly known for switching on Joe and effectively losing the season for the faithfuls, because apart from that he actually played a very good game. He made a really good alliance with Joe M and it’s a shame he turned on him as they would have made arguably the strongest winning faithfuls ever (David would have dragged down the average though.) Watchability wise, he just came across as a really nice guy and overall, he was just a joy to have on the season, even if he bungled the endgame to a titanic proportion.

68: Cat (NZ2): I liked Cat for the most part and she added a lot to NZ2. She has one of the strongest voting records we’ve seen from NZ and once she clocked onto the fact that Noel wasn’t a traitor, she was fantastic. I do agree with most that getting a bit personal with Mark was her low point but as much as I love Mark (as you will come to see) I can understand how he would frustrate people. Aside from that, she made a lot of really strong alliances and was near perfect in the second half of her run.

67: Kevin (CA1): Wow, we’re already on our last CA1 faithful. Kevin was quite easily the strongest faithful of the season. He pretty much led the charge in getting Mel B banished and also had suspicions on both Mike and Kuzie due to being part of his alliance (as well as Leroy). Kevin’s downfall was the fact that he just got a bit too passionate. It definitely seemed to rub people the wrong way a little bit and throwing out everyone in his alliance in one go wasn’t a great look. However, he played a very good game overall and it’s a shame he didn’t go further.

66: Anna (NZ1): Definitely the weaker of the two NZ1 winners but Anna was still pretty good. She was very popular amongst the group and created a lot of good alliances. She also has a voting record of 5 which is phenomenally good for a winning faithful and was very likeable on top of that. She was incredibly perceptive and the first person to notice that Robbie winked at Dan when she was getting banished. In addition, she was not easily swayed in the slightest and always stuck to her guns. Good player but the weaker of the two NZ1 winners.

65: Cagla (CA3): Cagla had a pretty rough ride! They were constantly having to fend off Lisette and in addition to this they were recruited fairly late into the game. They remind me a lot of UK2 Andrew where they weren’t necessarily a standout faithful or traitor but they were pretty good at both. I’m glad they weren’t a traitor from the beginning because I think secret relationships are better when they’re both faithful. I liked Cagla overall (and as for post show, if you know, you know).

64: Colin (NZ1): A really fun player to have around. Very entertaining and constantly able to sniff through BS. He voted for 3 traitors in 7 episodes which was pretty good. I’m so glad Brooke recruited him just for the fun of it as it really helped to spice up the last part of the season. He also came up with the Darth Vanda nickname so that was fun! Also gets bonus points for his taste in fashion, wow he looked incredible every single episode!

63: Luke (AU2): Maybe this is controversially low but outside of allying with Annabel and being onto both remaining traitors, he doesn’t do a ton for me. The fact he was onto all 3 traitors does give him a lot of points but if I’m being honest, he doesn’t do a ton for me in terms of watchability and I find he tends to get overshadowed by Annabel. I did like Luke and he was a good player but I think he can get a little overrated.

62: Ron (US4): Had a really unreasonably hard time. It’s a shame after suspecting Porsha for slipping up (which she did) he never really was trusted again. Still he voted for both Donna and Lisa. If the BTS stuff with the likes of Dorinda is true, then wow he had it rough and I’m shocked he still stayed so positive. I’m honestly shocked he lasted to the halfway point, he had a lot of votes at every round table post Donna’s banishment. It’s a real shame, lovely guy who made a very understandable mistake and then paid an unreasonable price for it.

61: Cat (UKC):  A good traitor who played a much more quiet game compared to Jonathan and Alan. If she was on another season I think she may have been found out sooner for perhaps being too quiet but that’s besides the point. Cat had some very amusing moments especially with Alan. The highlight is easily when she was trying to tell him in a nice way to shut up when discussing the murder in plain sight. Apart from that, she was just a very solid traitor all around and stayed undercover for a good majority of the game!

I can’t stand Wilf on UK S1

I just started watching UK series and I’m on S1E10 and Wilf is just a big stinking weasel!! I’d respect him more if he was honest and say he just wants to be the only traitor left but his conflicted soul act is ridiculous and fake, even his commentary to the audience is so calculated so he doesn’t appear to be the big cockroach that he is! No respect for his game, which I don’t consider smart at all! If it wasn’t for Amanda, he would have been sniffed out so fast. His only strategy is to throw other traitors under the bus when he starts to be under hot water; even him choosing Kieran was a calculated move to betray him later on, he said it himself. I truly hope he doesn’t win!

Edit: As I was typing this I was watching ep 11 and I have to say I love Kieran soooo much. He is pissed he got recruited as a traitor and I love that he’s calling out Wilf on his bullshit and treachery!

Rachel Freudian Slip(s)

Rewatching UK4, and at the final 6, James is telling Rachel how she could've known Fiona was a Traitor because she was a traitor, and Rachel responds with "That was one of my proudest moments here. Don't take that away from me by saying it was traitor on traitor. I still got one."

No one picked up on it but saying "still" would imply that James was correct in calling it traitor on traitor. I always see people discussing her other slip, but I've never seen anyone mention this one.

Combined with her slip of "if I was a faithful" later, it really is a miracle she won the game. Thank you Stephen 🙏

Australia Traitors Season 1 might actually be the greatest season of reality TV I've ever watched

I finally got around to watching The Traitors Australia Season 1 and... what the hell? How is this not talked about in the same breath as Survivor: Heroes vs Villains or the best seasons of Big Brother?

This wasn't just a great season of The Traitors. It was one of the best social strategy games I've ever seen.

The cast was absolutely stacked because everyone brought something different to the table.

The original Traitors were all fascinating in completely different ways. Angus tried to bluff his way through but cracked once the pressure mounted. Claire never really recovered after suspicion landed on her. Marielle looked like she was playing one of the most dominant Traitor games ever, calmly controlling conversations and always seeming two moves ahead. Nigel somehow mastered the art of being completely forgettable in the best possible way. While everyone else was blowing themselves up, he just quietly kept surviving.

On the Faithful side you had Kate, who wasn't afraid to call people out and ended up making some incredible reads. Teresa was absolute TV gold. Half the time she looked like comic relief and then she'd suddenly stumble onto the right suspect. Dirk played everything like a detective. Mark started piecing together the puzzle before becoming way too dangerous to keep around. Craig was probably the most genuinely decent person in the cast, which made everything that happened later hurt even more.

Then there was Alex.

Honestly, Alex might have played one of the greatest social games I've ever seen.

She spent almost the entire season building trust without looking like she was trying to build trust. Nobody viewed her as a threat. Nobody thought she was manipulating anything. She was just... there. Quiet. Likeable. Dependable.

Then she gets recruited as a Traitor.

And the game completely changes.

Most recruited Traitors panic because they have to suddenly change how they play.

Alex somehow became better.

She understood exactly how the Faithful were thinking because she'd actually been one for most of the game. She never overplayed. She let other people make "their own" decisions while gently steering them exactly where she wanted. It was honestly incredible to watch.

The funniest part is that every time I thought someone had finally figured her out... nope.

Meanwhile the season just kept delivering.

Angus goes.

Claire goes.

Marielle somehow gets blindsided after looking completely untouchable.

Nigel finally falls.

Kate gets recruited.

The alliances keep changing every episode and nobody ever feels safe. Every roundtable actually matters because people are constantly adapting instead of repeating the same arguments.

And then...

That finale.

I genuinely don't think I've ever seen an ending hit that hard.

Craig standing there, completely convinced Alex is a Faithful because she's earned every ounce of his trust over the course of the game... and then Alex revealing she's a Traitor.

Brutal.

Not because she won—I actually think she absolutely deserved to—but because you can literally watch Craig's heart break in real time. He isn't even angry. He's just devastated that the one person he trusted more than anyone was playing him from the moment she accepted the recruitment.

It's one of those reality TV moments that sticks with you long after the credits roll.

Every player contributed something. Even the early boots like Chloe, Ethan, Millie, Sandra, Justine, Jack, MK, Midy, Kashindi, Olivia, Matt, Fiona, Lewis and Paul all influenced the direction of the game through alliances, suspicions or simply becoming victims of the murders that kept reshaping the board.

What makes this season special is that nobody plays perfectly. The Traitors turn on each other. The Faithful make brilliant reads and then immediately vote out the wrong person. Every episode feels like the power shifts.

I honestly don't know how another English-language season tops this.

Alex deserves to be remembered as one of the greatest reality TV strategists ever. Marielle played an incredible middle game. Nigel played one of the best low-profile Traitor games I've seen. Kate was fantastic television. Craig gave us one of the most heartbreaking finales ever.

10/10.

No notes.

Now I understand why people say don't start with Australia Season 1—because everything else has an impossible standard to live up to.

I was wondering after watching 9 episodes of Australia series 1 why Paul is not being shown much ? He has done nothing on this show and is the most background character I have ever seen in traitors !

India is a mixed bag

Just finished The Traitors India and I think it's one of the most entertaining first seasons we've had, but definitely not one of the strongest strategically.

The production was incredible. The palace looked amazing, the soundtrack was great, and Karan Johar absolutely understood the assignment. He brought just the right amount of drama without making himself the centre of attention.

The cast was also packed with personalities.

Uorfi Javed ended up being one of the biggest surprises of the season. She walked in with a reputation for being loud and unpredictable, but she actually played a much smarter social game than I expected. She wasn't afraid to throw names out, but she also managed to build trust with enough people to survive when others around her became targets. By the end, it was clear she'd earned her place as one of the winners.

Nikita Luther almost played the opposite game. She stayed calm, avoided unnecessary drama and never really became the centre of attention. Some people will probably say she was too quiet, but in a game where surviving is everything, staying off everyone's radar clearly worked.

Purav Jha was probably one of the biggest strategic players in the cast. He understood deception, had good social relationships and wasn't afraid to manipulate situations. Every time he seemed to be gaining momentum, though, the game shifted again, which kept things interesting.

Harsh Gujral was entertaining from start to finish. He had the confidence to make bold moves, but like a lot of aggressive players in The Traitors, that confidence also put a spotlight on him. By the finale he was carrying a huge target, and once suspicion snowballs in this game it's incredibly difficult to stop.

Apoorva Mukhija constantly kept discussions alive. She wasn't someone who sat back quietly hoping to survive. She challenged people, questioned motives and never seemed afraid of confrontation. Even when she was wrong, she made the roundtables far more entertaining.

Ashish Vidyarthi was one of the more logical players. He seemed to genuinely want to solve the game instead of simply reacting emotionally, which I appreciated.

Raj Kundra tried to stay under the radar for large parts of the season, while players like Elnaaz Norouzi, Lakshmi Manchu, Sudhanshu Pandey, Raftaar, Jannat Zubair, Sahil Salathia, Jasmine Bhasin, Maheep Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, Mukesh Chhabra, Janvi Gaur and Sufi Motiwala all had moments where they either became major suspects, found themselves caught in shifting alliances or simply added another layer of chaos to the game.

The biggest difference between this and something like Australia Season 1 was the gameplay.

Australia felt like everyone was playing chess.

India often felt like people were playing poker without knowing everyone else's cards existed.

There were definitely flashes of brilliant strategy. Some players understood exactly when to stay quiet, when to accuse someone and when to let suspicion naturally build around another contestant.

But there were also so many banishments where I found myself thinking, "How did we get here?"

A lot of votes seemed driven by personalities, gut feelings or who had annoyed someone that day instead of carefully piecing together who actually benefited from each murder.

That doesn't necessarily make bad TV.

It just makes for a different version of The Traitors.

The twists kept things moving though.

Every murder completely changed the social dynamics. Players who looked perfectly safe one episode suddenly became the main suspects in the next. Alliances formed and collapsed almost overnight, and there were several eliminations where I genuinely thought someone was safe before the votes started coming in.

The Traitors themselves also had to constantly adapt. Every successful banishment made life easier for a while, but every mistake immediately put the spotlight back on them. You could see the pressure building as numbers got smaller and every conversation started carrying more weight.

The endgame was probably the strongest part of the season.

By that point almost everyone left had some level of suspicion hanging over them, nobody fully trusted anyone anymore, and every vote felt like it could decide the entire game. Watching Harsh make one final push before ultimately being exposed, while Uorfi and Nikita survived as Innocents to split the prize, made for a satisfying finish even if some fans wanted different winners.

Overall I'd give it around a 7.5 or 8 out of 10.

I don't think it's anywhere near Australia Season 1, where almost every episode felt like a masterclass in social strategy. But as a first season, I think India has built a really solid foundation.

Now that future contestants know how ruthless this game can be, I think Season 2 has the potential to be much stronger strategically.

The cast proved India can absolutely deliver the drama.

Now I just want to see them deliver the mind games.

Very Late to the Game on Australia Season 1 (Which I Actually Ended Up Quite Liking)

I am going to keep this quite general to avoid spoilers, although I can't imagine that there are many people left at this point who have not watched Australia Season 1.

TBH, I can't exactly recall why we had not watched Aus. Season 1. Or perhaps, more accurately, had not finished it. Based on the viewing history on Peacock, it looks like we stopped watching after the second or third episode. As I recall, it was because there were a lot of stupidity causing lots of viewing frustration. But I think the real reason was because the UK versions were coming available on Peacock, so we switched to those. At some point we watched Aus. Season 2, and OMG, that probably turned us off from Australia Traitors forever, thus we forgot about not finishing Season 1. Well, recently, as we were going through Traitors withdrawal, we discovered that we had never finished Aus. Season 1. Well, what a delightful discovery that turned out to be, because, by chance, it was just around this time that the Season got really, really good. Probably not good enough to make it into my Top 3 seasons. But, except for the disappointing (to me) ending, Aus. Season 1 was an excellent season, once you get past the first couple of episodes, which, in retrospect, turn out to be kind of good in hindsight, as a contrast to the later episodes when things really started to click for the Faithfuls.

One last thing: I am a big fan of the ability to win a shield that makes you immune to both murder and banishment. Maybe just once or twice per season. But I loved how it shook things up in this season.

Where to watch Canada English ? Not on Traitors archive

Name your favorite cast member per season that you watched, and comment why

For me,

Kate USA 1-2 — HUMOR, PERSONALITY, CONFESSIONALS!

Carolyn USA 3 — Genuinely honest, says what she feels to your face, and doesn’t tolerate any dishonesty

Rob USA 4 — The person people will remember the season for. The overalls, the smirk, and the personality of a nonchalant charmer and a casual genius strategy.

Harry UK 2 — Basically the Rob of UK seasons, except the overalls, he had his earring as his signature accessory. He had the grin that just told you he knew exactly what he was doing. Very smart.

Fiona UK 4 — She calls out people as she sees them, like Carolyn. It’s great to see people stand their ground, and also show they respect people, regardless of the game itself.

Camille AU 2 — The alpha. She shows up, sees how things are and makes power moves throughout the game. Sometimes the biggest power move is revealing, only when the time is right, what you have been aware and planning for all along.

Most obsessed faithful?

I was wondering if I would ever find a faithful more obsessed with one player like Maddie was with wilf from UK series 1. While watching the first 7 episodes of Australia series 1 I have finally found them in Matt with his focus on Teresa! 😂

Man won't let it go! What about you guys ?

There should be a rule against intimidation/guilt/aggression at the roundtable

Im talking more about Rachel from UK and more recently Keanu from NZ season 3. To switch up and bring outside things into the game and accuse people of questioning your family life, sexuality, real important things that are irrelevant to the game is just heinous. It puts the others in the game at risk of insulting someone's life rather than playing the game. I was happy to see Keanu go because of this and gutted to see Rachel win after being aggressive and intimidating when caught in a lie. Outright bollocks.

How Would a 4-Person Traitor FINAL 4 work out? Would it be another Traitors’ Dilemma?

Here is my Link for the 3-Traitors Final, which has historically had a Traitors’ Dilemma.

A Traitors Dilemma has only occurred when there are 3 Traitors left.

How would things play out if there are 4 Traitors though?

Instead of being able to end the game or vote out someone, they have to write down Share or Steal.

If all Share then they split it 4 ways.

If 3 Share and 1 Steals then the $ goes to the Stealer.

If 2 Share and 2 Steal then the $ goes to the Stealers.

If 1 Shares and 3 Steal then the $ goes to the Stealers.

If all Steal then no one gets the $ at all.

SCENARIO:

You are at Top 4, and realize you don’t completely trust your fellow Traitors, and are stuck in the Traitors Dilemma.

At this point, you are unable to throw in a Pouch at all. You can only Vote to SHARE OR STEAL.

SHARE:

If you SHARE at least someone is guaranteed to get the money because only when all 4 people STEAL does it end with $0.

STEAL:

Hope that at least someone else makes that sacrifice to SHARE so you can get a bigger prize.

Overall:

Ultimately, with now all 4 Traitors at the Final 4, and no pouches, you don’t get to see who would have Voted Red or Green at Final 4, like if there was at least 1 Faithful, to gauge anyone’s choices.

You also know two things are true: At least 1 more person is capable of Stealing even if 3 others would Share, and it also means at least 1 more person is capable of Sharing even if 3 others would Steal.

This adds an interesting dynamic:

Should you Steal if everyone else is more likely to panic and Steal too?

If not, then should you Share if everyone else is afraid to Steal because they assume everyone else will Steal?

Please share your thoughts and comments on this NEW, UNPRECEDENTED Final 4 dynamic.

Two ideas to improve the show

How about change the rules of the show slightly. If a traitor gets a shield, the traitor instantly dies and the group finds out.

So on those challenges where a team of 6 wins and gets access to the armory, if there's one traitor on the team, he has a 1 in 6 chance of dying. This would likely change the behavior of the traitors and make it much easier to spot them. Traitors might be tempted to all be on the same team and sabotage the challenge. Faithful would notice that someone never tries for a shield.

Another idea is to have maybe 2 or 3 chances for people to find an "arrow". If someone finds an arrow, they get to meet the host in private, and name another player. If they name a traitor, the traitor is instantly killed. That would add stress to the traitors.

As the show works now, the Traitors just have it far too easy.. All they have to do is convince 3 of the Faithful that they are Faithfuls too.. The show is basically a popularity contest. People don't vote out their friends (most of the time). It seems like that at least 1/2 the time, a traitor is only caught because another traitor exposes him. (I have not watched every season in every country). So many roundtables are " 2 random names are thrown out, the least popular person is voted out".

I've watched the USA and Canada versions and UK Season 1.. I'm on season 2 of the UK show, and honestly I've gotten bored with this show and I doubt I will finish UK Season 2 and it's unlikely I ever watch this show again without rule changes.

Poor Carolyn (S3)

So I’m rewatching season three and I just keep thinking about poor Carolyn. Production did her so wrong by making her a traitor. She can’t handle the pressure, she is too emotional, and she definitely isn’t strategic enough. I think she is such a great character, but she would have been even better as a faithful.
