Hearing that the start date for the new T4/T8/T2 timetable planned for 18th October has been delayed by a month to 15th November.

Many of these timetable changes were originally planned to come in last year, so what's another month...

The overhead wiring has come down on the southbound line at Chatswood around 8:30pm

Sydney Trains are advising this incident will potentially affect tomorrow morning's peak services and are asking people to consider making alternative travel arrangements.

UPDATE: repairs won't be complete until around 10-11am Tuesday.

There are no trains running on the North Shore Line from Gordon to North Sydney until at least 10-11am.

> It is recommended that you allow up to 45 minutes extra travel time when planning your trip, delay your journey if possible or consider using other transport options such as local buses or Sydney Metro.

For Tuesday morning, from Hornsby to the city via Chatswood:

• Hornsby to City trains will end at Gordon, running at reduced frequency
• replacement buses run from Gordon to Chatswood only (change for the Metro)
• no trains (or replacement bus) from Chatswood and all stations to North Sydney
• Berowra to City trains divert at Hornsby to run via Epping & Strathfield, ending at Central.

From the city northbound to Hornsby via Chatswood:

• reduced service from North Sydney to Hornsby.
• all Gordon/Lindfield trains will end at North Sydney
• most Hornsby/Berowra trains continue to run northbound, but expect delays

T9 Northern Line all stations services will also be reduced, approx every second service cancelled.

Some T1 Western Line services from Penrith will terminate at Central (instead of running through the City).

T1 Western Line to the city is expected to be further impacted with more cancellations later in the morning.

I have notifications set up with NextThere for all the delays and service changes on my main lines T1 and T4.

Most days it's usually lots of "operational issues" and "urgent repairs", but today most of the alerts have been for delays "due to a person causing a disturbance at":

• Central
• Bondi Junction
• Newtown
• West Ryde
• Concord West
• Strathfield
• Hornsby
• Wahroonga
• Pymble
• Lidcombe
• Blaxland

That's a lot of people all causing disturbances across the network in 1 day.

What's brought all the crazy people out today?

2 weeks ago I ordered a phone for delivery on the Harvey Norman website.

They charged my card instantly, but 13 days later the order status is still "Processing" with no updates.

On their checkout page it said it would be shipped in 1 business day!

Their site also boasts: "Australian-based customer service teams offer after-hours support and are available 7 days a week" but when I called their 1300 number they said they can't help with any online orders! They directed me to a "contact us form" which says they'll "respond within 24 hours". It's been a week, still no response.

I called my bank to dispute the transaction but they said I need to resolve it with HN directly.

What should I do now?

A few minor delays tonight, the station announcer is saying it's due to the rain and weather. However the official alert on the Opal app is saying "due to vandalism of trains at various locations"

I mean I guess you could say the rain has vandalised trains adding unwelcome water to the network? 🤣
