Title guess? I'll say Joanna, digging down to the heart of the Taskmaster ethos, and putting socks on socks (that 2nd image is both distressing and alluring to my diagnosis). That 3rd image is Armando gold.

"Things become a little strange in the Taskmaster house as Armando Iannucci and Joanna Page contemplate an alien invasion, Joel Dommett joyfully slides socks onto cacti, Kumail Nanjiani is enchanted by smoky bubbles, and Amy Gledhill performs stand-up using items of clothing. Meanwhile, Greg Davies proves that he's a responsible master of his loveable pet, Little Alex Horne."

What came to my mind during training

Nothing special, just a thought that came to me during training for a race I have this weekend.

Yes, I did spend the rest of the ride trying to find the perfect wording for this.

Posted this to Strava, but I don’t think my two followers (yes they are just my friends) know Taskmaster, so I wanted to share it here.

Armando's book

Picked up Armando Iannucci's book Hear Me Out for £1 at the charity shop today. Anyone read his books? There's two others mentioned by him, Facts and Fancies, and The Audacity of Hype. Are there others? Which of them is your favourite?

Friendships after the show

I’m just wondering if anyone knows how past contestants have developed their friendships after the show. I can see Joel and Kumail working together in the future and everyone being best friends with Joanna

Taskmaster Australia Episode Title Stat

After the most recent TM podcast episode regarding episode titles and how Ed thinks they try to give every contestant one, I decided to go through every UK series to find out if there are any where all five contestants got an episode title, and there are indeed none - same for NZ, but I was very surprised to find out that so far, in Taskmaster Australia, only one contestant never had an episode title named after something they said ->! Jenny Tian!<. The rest are full houses.

Special mention to Australia season 4, where all five contestants named an episode as well as both of the Toms. (Also this doesn't account for the currently-ongoing season 5 as I haven't seen any of it yet)

Peter Serafinowicz wants to do the show

I was watching some old episodes of HoG and Peter Serafinowicz was on when something Taskmaster related was in a question, he commented that he had not been asked to do the show. I took it as he was somewhat of a fan and would like to. I don’t know him super well but from movies and reality tv, I think he’d be good! He did well on HoG.

No Northern Irish comedian’s yet

I was thinking about this recently and realised that across 20+ seasons of UK Taskmaster, I’m sure we’ve not had a Northern Irish contestant yet.

It stood out to me because Alex and the show generally seem really good at bringing in comedians from different backgrounds, experiences, styles, ages, etc. It feels like the show actively tries to widen the net.

Which is why Northern Ireland being absent feels a bit surprising. Especially given there’s a strong comedy scene and plenty of people who would fit the Taskmaster chaos perfectly.

Not trying to make it a big criticism, more wondering if anyone else had noticed it or has thoughts on why?

Edit: been asked to provide some examples. Here’s a list of comedians who I think be good on the show.
Diona Doherty, Shane Todd, Colin Geddis, Vittorio Angelone, Patrick Kielty, Colin Murphy.. etc

We’ve a budding comedy community and I think it’s time we had a representative. And for those saying we’ve not had any breakout comedians big enough for the show. I had never heard of Fern Brady before but I didn’t question why she was there. One of the best part of the show is the variety of backgrounds - long established to newcomers.

Summary of football game

Whilst slightly biased and focused on one person it does show some behind the scenes and many shots of the game

Played taskmaster in VR. I understand why the contestants look so traumatized during tasks now 💀💀

The 2nd task absolutely destroyed my soul, I couldn't believe what I was witnessing, by the time it was time to do the 3rd task i was shell shocked at how dumb i was during the 2nd task and couldn't even focus on what i was doing. I had to take a 24 hour break after the first episode

VR was the best and the only way to do this btw. Absolutely loving the experience.

If you had to make a series where every cast member had the same first name, what name would you choose?

Your task is to make a new series, but everyone must have the same first name. Taskmaster, Taskmaster's assistant, and five comedians.

Shortened names are allowed. An example could be Mike/Michael, as long as it's the name they go by. No "Well she goes by Anne and but her legal first name is Jenn so she counts as Jenn".

They can be alive or dead.

They can be from any country.

Your time starts now.
