200 Extraordinary Tasks Misprint

200 Extraordinary Tasks Misprint

I bought the Taskmaster book back when it released and never posted about my strange misprint where contents were inserted upside down in relation to the cover. Thought I'd post it here to see whether this happened to several copies or if I'm the odd one out!

I edited together 3 angles from the Porter & Nina Sydney set (with Nina's decks recording and crowd noise blended)

Spent several days cutting this together mostly because I missed hearing the crowd reactions from Nina's recording. It was difficult getting the levels right (and sometimes the phone recording was too distorted). It's not perfect but I hope you like it 😊

Finally got round to watching One for the Road...

Overall I enjoyed it and it was a great send-off for the trio, but I wish it had fewer staged sequences tbh.

Obviously the majority of these trip routes are planned in advance (it's has a decently paid TV crew after all!) but I never understood the logic of "let's pretend Jeremy got us lost, and now we have to buy boats, and pretend we sailed all night on croc-infested waters". I understand it creates a storyline for the adventure, but I'd argue it would've been just as fun stating they'd be driving to the top and crossing with boats.

It felt like the staged sequences got more and more egregious towards the end of TG and into TGT to me. My guess is that as the trio's salaries increased it became a priority to get specials in the can as quickly and efficiently as possible, at the cost of losing naturally funny moments.

One of my favourite moments in the finale was Jeremy miming "knobhead" to the people driving by rather than the crew, and when they legitimately surprise each other with what comes out of their mouths (e.g. in the RVs special when Richard told Jeremy about putting 'Anal' before the names of the RVs).

It's a shame there wasn't more time for them to naturally find some funny moments with their cars, or even go more behind-the-scenes. I assume they had on-hand mechanics to help with genuine car issues, and in some ways I'd rather them be shown having to ask for help and briefly showing the cars being fixed. I *adore* the specials, but the weird facade of "it's just us on our own" has never really made sense to me.

I genuinely hope the new trio being more unknown and on smaller salaries might actually make their adventures quite fun - especially if they *have* the time to find funny moments.

I know there have been plenty of posts in this sub about staged sequences, but I'd love to have a discussion about how/why they increased over time. Even now as I'm watching Clarkson's Farm I feel there are lots of unnecessarily staged moments, so I do wonder whether it's a Wilman or Clarkson decision (or both!).

Again I love the concept of the special/adventure, but I'm curious what others here would like to see more (or less) of with the new trio. :-)

Does anyone know any other tracks that use a similar sound to the "uh-uh-uh" vocal in CRANK?

Hi!! I only recently discovered Slayyyter in thanks to Madeon's Fire Away and his Coachella set but I'm really enjoying her work! When I heard CRANK the vocal effect at the drops really reminded me of this track by Big Chocolate (around 0:43 especially!). Does anybody know other tracks that use a similar sound? It feels familiar to me and I'm sure it's not unique to CRANK and Blue Milk :-)

HIM's Venus Doom album launched on the 14th September 2007

I've seen it mentioned that there was a signing event on the 17th September 2007, but has it been discussed much that HIM's Venus Doom album released on the 14th September? It may not have been a signing event, but is it possible he planned to meet somebody to get the CD on launch day?

My parents' SICs have a small fault where they don't recognise that they have individual beds

(they're very sweet and I love them)
