Found another rare UK tape in that same box haul—'UFOs: The Evidence' (1994). Just digitised the full 90-minute documentary to preserve it. Link in comments! 🛸📼
My Own Phillips Player And Some Of My Favored Tapes Here in The UK
I don't have a massive collection anymore (only around 15 tapes, had over a hundred 25+ years ago) but I still like that I have a VHS shelf in 2026 and still have a good working VHS player.
'Wicked City' and 'Heavy Metal' are such fun adult animations. What are your thoughts on these films?
Found a super cool bootleg.
Picked this up at a thrift store, all the captions are in maybe Japanese.
Started collecting about 2 weeks ago and already have over 100 tapes
You might have seen me post when I filled in the first shelf, or the 2nd shelf. But now there’s a third shelf. The madness doesn’t end, and I am right where I want to be.
List of movies stuck on VHS with no DVD or Blu-ray release
Special thanks to letterboxd user Frank Lanza for compiling this
Rookie Mistake
was so excited, i just grabbed it and headed to the counter. I went back but couldn't find "Cats Don't Dance"
Why physical media matters. This isn't streaming anywhere. Id hate to potentially degrade my more rare and expensive tapes, but, tapes were meant for watching!
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)つ📼
hey ya’ll first time poster. Started as a kid (I’m 30) and then started collecting again a few years ago in some nostalgic attempt to feel alive again in this capitalist streaming hellscape. Anyway thought I’d share the collection, sorry it’s disorganized. Not featured is a crate of westerns and war movies from grandpa I’ll probably never watch. I also have a ton of my dad’s childhood baseball games on VHS which I think is unique and neat. I’ve only ever lurked here and wouldn’t consider myself an expert on this stuff so be nice thanks homies
I think it looks cooler like this 😆
Anyone else take the face plate and shell off their vcr?
My Collection So Far
Started up collecting again in June. I’ve had the Friday the 13th tapes since childhood, but everything else is recent acquisitions.
I’ve been calling this my midlife crisis project because I’ve basically been trying to recreate the collection I had when I was 14 in 2001 before I ditched it all (excluding the Friday the 13th tapes) for DVD. I guess I’m happy in that regard because this has a point where I’ll basically be done, but I still have about 45 tapes to go. It’s been fun tracking down the stuff I used to have.
The tape without a case next to Demons is Dead Alive. The blu-ray and DVD cases are placeholders for stuff I intend to get on tape at some point. I do have probably 1000-2000 movies on blu-ray, but I keep those in sleeves in file cabinets to save space.
