Built a shelf out of common 2x6’s and 1x6’s. Cut, routed, stained and polyurethaned. Came out absolutely beautiful for a basement vhs shelf.

Will VHS have a vinyl-esque revival?
With the existence of physical media being constantly threatened, will we see a vinyl-esque revival of VHS?
At one point, I would have said no, but nowadays I can imagine a future where people look for new VHS tapes out of nostalgia. Similarly to vinyl, VHS is unreliable compared to other formats like DVD and Blu-ray as it can be easy for tapes to jam, but the rough picture quality could lead some to seeing the image as offering more of an authentic visual.

Mafia! (1998) Such an underrated movie.
I know I’m not the only one that loves this movie. Man shit is still funny to this day! Parody at its finest. If you love Goodfellas, Godfather, Casio and more you’re in for a good laugh. Mafia! Is what Scary movie is to horror. Pure comedy 😆

Does anyone know what this loose pin could be in the VHS?
It rolls all over the place. I don't dare try to play the tape in my vhs player.
Also I tried unscrewing the screws in the rear of the tape but they just spun around and didnt come out so I'm unsure how I could remove this but I imagine it's an integral part of the tape itself so... yeah this is a broken tape right?

JVC HR S6600EK - Finally found a decent SVHS VCR out in the wild
Got this for £8 at a car boot sale today - didn't expect it to be fully functional, but it is!
Is this any better for capturing old tapes to digital? I used a JVC HR J256EK last year to convert family videos and I'm wondering if I should redo them again with this unit?

Grabbed a stack for July 4th 🇺🇸🎆
$10 at my local book store. I was delighted by Warlock - it's an old rental that was converted to clamshell. I saw it for the first time recently and it's quickly become a favorite. No lenticular cover for The Frighteners, but it's in good condition. Rest are bangers I was missing.
Shopping for VHS tapes and getting takeout was way better than traffic and fireworks.

Terminator Super VHS transfer (first four minutes)
Recently transferred the Super-VHS (S-VHS) copy of Terminator (1984) I acquired a couple years ago (https://www.reddit.com/r/Terminator/s/Lws07qNTUw). Used Elgato video transfer and my friend’s Super VHS player to get it done.

Is this kind of damage salvagable? And if fixed risky for my VCR to play?
I bought a pretty rare tape at a garage sale and was thrilled just to see it. Upon inspection the owner said I could have it since it was broken. The position it's broken in looks like i can swing it back into place and gorilla glue it right back together. Would that type of repair hold up to use in a VCR? I wouldn't want to risk my player. Is this something you've seen before?
