“Britney didn’t approve of this release!!1!” — except she did.

Britney sold her catalogue. Not Jamie Spears, not Lou Taylor, not Sam Lutfi, BRITNEY.

Britney is smarter than you guys give her credit for; she knew selling her catalogue meant selling the rights to ALL of her recordings so far. She approved of the Britney 25th release when she approved the sale of her catalogue. I’m not sure what part of that people aren’t understanding… and if, for some reason, she didn’t approve of Britney 25th (which I don’t believe to be the case), then that would have probably been a major oversight on her/her legal team’s part.

If anything, knowing how much her label fought against certain songs seeing the light of day, she’s probably happy seeing these songs get love from her fans… does that mean she wants every recording she’s ever made released? Probably not. But we know Britney’s best, most creative works are mostly unreleased. Just be glad we’re getting “new” Britney stuff, especially from a time when she genuinely loved making music.

Cinderella

This resurgence of interest in the Britney album is an obvious time for me to, once again, declare that, gun to my head, "Cinderella" is my favorite Britney Spears song. The fact that it wasn't a single or EVER performed live is DIABOLICAL.

Nice to see they were both into it.

She also talked about performances including Britney's saying MTV knew everything that was planned and cleared it with the legal department because she was not showing any body parts.

Can we just take a moment?

Albums currently represented in Britney’s top 10 daily streams: Baby One More Time, Oops!… I Did It Again, Britney, In the Zone, Blackout, Circus, Femme Fatale. The resurgence of Slave has placed it rightfully into the top 10. Also, she has 5 albums (Baby, Oops, In the Zone, Blackout, and Circus) that regularly pull over a million streams. Femme Fatale is getting closer around 800-850K. And Britney has jumped from around 300K to closer to 500K.

Would love a Glory resurgence to bring all of her best work into the spotlight.

The bad decision not to include “Deep In My Heart” on the U.S. version of "...Baby One More Time"

I’m Britney’s number one fan. Her first four albums defined my childhood. *...Baby One More Time* is special because it was the first one.

Imagine my surprise when, years later, I discovered that "Deep In My Heart" wasn't included on the US version! I was obsessed with that song throughout my childhood, and I can't believe Americans didn't even know it existed. Yes, I know it was included later on the "Oops" single or on compilations, but that really only reaches the die-hard fans. Out of the millions of Americans who bought the album, I can't believe they didn't hear this song when listening to the record.

I know these were record label decisions back then, but there are plenty of worse songs on the album that could have been cut for the US release.
