I'm curious what you guys think. I'm sure we're all biased based on where we are from, and I'll admit my opinion has changed a little over the years. For context, I grew up in the Hudson Valley in upstate New York. Holy cow, the Hudson River in the fall is insane. I used to say I grew up in the background picture of a computer. However, I moved to NC years ago and the Blue Ridge Parkway in the fall is some stiff competition. I've even seen photos of Northern California that rival New England. I'm just curious what you guys think. I'm factoring in the length of fall, the small towns, the weather, the colors, the vibe.

For context, I work out of the country. I'm gone for long periods of time, typically in very underdeveloped and austere environments. I'm from New England and I daydream about the fall all the time while I'm in these very destitute places. Who has some good suggestions for a novel set in the autumn in New England? I don't even care what it's about. As long as the setting is part of the story. Help my mind wander back to the good old days. Novels set in the '80s and '90s would be even better, but I'll take anything.
