How’d I do?

Male 36. My first flat. Took me about two years to renovate and decorate. During that time I was playing a lot of elder scrolls oblivion which is why the walls are covered in rugs and tapestries. I thought it was starting to look a bit feminine so I also incorporated a load of flowery cushions, fringed lampshades and soft throw blankets to give it a masculine edge. Did I make a good male living space?

Edit: Appreciate all the comments! I’ve had a fair few questions about where I’ve sourced stuff in the flat. I’m an obsessive scourer of second hand finds. I’d say 90% of stuff in the flat comes from places like vinted, FB marketplace, gumtree etc. I love searching for handmade objects from around the world which is why it’s got a more eclectic vibe!

2nd edit: I’ve had a fair few questions about the rugs and tapestries! The rugs are mainly Persian and Turkish. Some really nice afghans out there too - I just happen not to have any. All of them I’ve found online and were surprisingly affordable as the market for handmade carpets is really slow. If you’re looking for similar I’d advise doing a bit of homework on how to identify handmade vs machine made as it makes a big difference to the look and feel imo. The tapestries are all modern reproductions from France or Belgium I think. Again surprisingly affordable as there isn’t a big market for massive tapestries. Main thing to make sure of is that they’re woven rather than printed as the latter can look really naff. Other than that it’s down to personal taste.
