Frozen restaurant quality ramen - Maki and Ramen

This costs 9 quid at the frozen section of my asian grocer! By comparison, the equivalent ramen costs about 11-12 quid at the restaurant. It is made by Maki and Ramen, they are a japan quality ramen chain in the uk.

All you do is throw the frozen ingredients in a pot, cook for 10 minutes, and boom! you have restaurant quality instant ramen.

It's 8/10.

The broth and noodles are absolutely restaurant quality. The quality of the ingredients reflects this. Very tasty, deep flavour, smooth mouthfeel. The broth makes you feel good after eating the same way a real chicken soup would.

The condiments suck and are NOT restaurant quality. It's two sorry pieces of chicken breast with a piece of pakchoi. I had to add the green onion and prawn myself to improve things. Had to deduct 2 points.

Worth it? I'd say yes if you save it in the freezer for a sick day or a very lazy day and your body needs a healthier option than whatever they put in those flavor packets.

Spicy korean noodles trend vs Japanese quality instant noodles (caution: may be a hot take)

Korean branded flavors have completely overtaken the world, every grocer and oriental section stocks Nongshim and Buldak as the "premium" instant noodles - even though they're just very artificial tasting spice without much depth of flavor and a noodle texture that can only be described as thick rubber.

How is it that Japanese quality instant noodles are not making the same splash by now?

Are Japanese noodle companies just not able to export at scale and sell at a premium (which people WILL pay considering the huge taste and quality difference compared to the competition)? Do they just think the crappy overseas Damae flavors are what people will always settle for?

I just feel like the sky is the limit for how delicious, satisfying and quality an instant noodle is. You need only take a trip to Japan and sample some of their most popular flavors to see.

Sorry for the rant. I guess I'm just annoyed that I can't get an instant noodle that's the quality and depth of taste of what the japanese get back home at any of my local grocers. It's just Korean brands everywhere, and then some Chinese stuff, and then the very meagre and average overseas version of Nissin stuff. All of which does NOT compare to japanese stuff. Either in actual taste or - at the risk of upsetting - quality of taste.

Best 5 pack of instant ramen you can buy. Anyone agree?

For anyone who doesn't know what this is: it's the Nissin Chiken Ramen 5-Pack. They sell in japan and if you're lucky - some overseas asian online grocers.

There is no flavor or vegetable sachet. The flavor is infused into the noodles. It's got a wonderful taste of chicken that's deep, satisfying, umami-ish. The noodles don't make my stomach feel bad or uneasy like quite a lot of cheaper brands do. It pairs incredibly well with egg and spring onion.

I've tried many 5 pack instant ramens, and quite a few japan ones. Nothing comes close to the comfort of taste and ease of use of this flavor.
