This is Hazel, she’s a mini Toad of the crochet variety, dressed in knit overalls with 3 tiny functional pockets (because how else will she carry all her trinkets?).

Shes very excited to finally have an outfit appropriate for stomping through gardens and forests, although she does need a little help reaching the flowers.

I crocheted Hazel using the crochet toad pattern by Claire garland, which I modified to have an open mouth to make her more expressive. Her knit overalls I designed. Her boots are 1/12 scale doll shoes. She stands a whopping 4 inches tall.

Hazel the crochet toad, having patiently waited for me to finish knitting her overalls (they have 3 pockets! She can carry all the trinkets!) finally was able to dress appropriately for a proper adventure in the garden. She needed some help reaching the flowers, but found the clovers and moss to be right on her level.

Hazel is crocheted using fingering weight yarn, using the dotpebbles crochet toad pattern, which I modified a bit to give her an open mouth. Her overalls were designed and knit by me. Her boots are 1/12 scale doll shoes.

Every summer I feel the urge to make a purse and get distracted by other things, this year I followed through and did it 😅

I used Alyssia Creates Moon and Sun square and her Strawberry Crossbody Purse patterns and mashed them together and made some adjustments. I added additional outside side pockets and swapped out the strap for my preferred non stretch strap method. It’s fully lined with an inside pocket big enough for my tablet.

Taffy Toad is a sweet themed lil cutie, standing a grand total of 4 inches tall in her bubble gum pink Mary Jane shoes.

As you can see, she was very helpful when I was knitting her romper, except for when she tried to steal one of my needles to try to conspire with the cat to challenge a squirrel to a jousting match. 🤦🏻‍♀️

The final photo is an outtake from her photo shoot when the wind picked up and well, the open mouth modification made her look appropriately terrified, oops. 😬

Yarns- all hedgehog fibers sock weight. 1.25 hook.
