Frustrated DC Tennis Player
Any tennis players in DC frustrated with the state of the courts in DC? I’m pretty conflicted because I truly love tennis and glad the game is growing. I don’t mind waiting for a court and I expect to wait for a court if I go at a busy time. I rarely go to a court at 5 because duh, but I’ve still been having these problems.
A gripe I have is that only Bannaker consistently prints out the sheet of when the courts are reserved. It’s so aggravating when I get to a court on time and immediately get kicked off for a lesson. I understand the DC DPR ones (I really wish that they wouldn’t do the lessons on the locations with only one or two courts) but at least they have the permit since it’s a city event. My main gripe is the non DPR lessons. These coaches will set up and do blocks of lessons and occupy almost 50% of the courts during peak hours. AND THEN YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE BALLS ROLLING ONTO YOUR COURT EVERY POINT IF ITS A BEGINNER/KID LESSON.
I don’t have a solution but was just seeing if anyone else has been dealing with this. Looking forward to winter
