My experience using Desertcart.in
I was honestly super skeptical before ordering because I’d seen mixed reviews about Desertcart, customs delays, damaged imports etc. But my experience ended up being pretty solid so thought I’d share for anyone researching before buying.
I ordered a LOOI AI robot (the little desktop robot with ChatGPT/Gemini integration) from Desertcart to Bangalore because literally nowhere else was shipping it easily to India. Final price came to around ₹28k including import charges and delivery ( amazon charges 33k or 38k or smtn i don remember ), which honestly felt reasonable considering it was being imported from the US.
Timeline was actually interesting to track lol. It shipped from the US supplier warehouse, went through international transit, Delhi customs, then moved across India through Delhivery. There were a few moments where tracking looked confusing and delayed, especially during hub transfers, but the live truck/location updates were weirdly addictive to watch 😭
Biggest thing I was worried about was customs surprise charges — but I didn’t get hit with random extra payment requests after checkout. Packaging also arrived fine, no damage to the robot itself.
One thing Desertcart could improve though is communication during delays. Tracking updates sometimes look scary if you’ve never imported something before. Mine had a couple routing updates that made it seem like the package was going backwards across India for a bit.
But overall:
Product was genuine
Delivery actually happened
Import process was handled properly
No scammy feeling
Tracking was detailed
Customer support replies were decent when contacted
Would I use it again for niche tech imports? Probably yes, especially for stuff that’s impossible to find officially in India or incredibly expensive.
