A follow up after yesterday’s theory
Hi everyone, I hope you all remember my last theory because after rereading the manga I genuinely think the situation is even worse than I originally thought
At this point I don’t think we are heading toward ONE insane reveal.
I think Ikemoto is setting up multiple plot twists at the same time and disguising them as separate mysteries.
For anyone who missed it, my original prediction was this:
Sarada will start losing her sight, and the “solution” will be Sasuke being forced to have another child with Sakura in order to awaken Sarada’s EMS after the child dies at birth. They will make a hole trough the tree from which sasuke will breed sakura for this process, then we get a suspiciously specific 9 month timeskip before Sarada returns healed with EMS.
Everyone laughed at that theory originally.
But now the more I reread Boruto, the more I think the 9 month timeskip is secretly tied to TWO different reveals at once.
Theory 1: Sarada’s EMS was never the ONLY purpose of the timeskip.
Theory 2: Boruto returns as a woman after complete Otsutsuki overwrite.
And honestly the second one explains almost everything weird surrounding Boruto recently.
People keep saying “that would never happen” while ignoring what the manga already established:
Karma rewrites DNA completely,
omnipotence can alter reality itself,
memories can be rewritten globally,
humans can basically become trees now
At that point a physical transformation is not even crazy anymore compared to everything else happening.
Thematically it also fits Boruto perfectly.
Naruto was about inheritance and legacy.
Boruto is about losing identity.
Kawaki stole Boruto’s life.
Omnipotence stole his reputation.
Karma is slowly stealing his body.
The next logical step is Boruto no longer even physically resembling the person he originally was.
And look at Boruto’s post-timeskip design carefully:
more androgynous appearance,
a slimmer silhouette,
softer facial structure,
much heavier fashion focus
People forget Ikemoto is the one mainly driving Boruto’s visual identity now, not Kishimoto drawing weekly like old Naruto. His style has ALWAYS leaned toward more ambiguous and fashion-oriented character designs.
But the craziest part is still the Jougan.
Because if you think about it, the Jougan has NEVER behaved like a normal dojutsu:
it appears inconsistently and barely gets explained
it is tied to dimensions and perception
and is connected heavily to fate and identity themes
I honestly don’t think the Jougan is a “power-up” anymore.
I think it is Boruto’s body reacting to the Otsutsuki overwrite itself.
Almost like his body is rejecting the transformation while simultaneously evolving through it.
Which would explain why Momoshiki keeps acting uneasy whenever Boruto maintains control of himself.
Now think about the symbolism:
Sarada losing her sight
Boruto loseing his identity
Those are not normal shonen themes.
That is psychological horror writing disguised as a battle manga.
And again… the 9 month gap.
Why specifically 9 months?
Not 1 year.
Not 2 years.
Exactly 9 months.
Everybody keeps pretending this is random while the manga is blatantly using rebirth symbolism, body transformation themes, genetic rewriting, and identity loss all at the same time.
I think the entire timeskip is basically functioning as a “rebirth period”.
Sarada is reborn through EMS.
Boruto is reborn physically.
And because omnipotence already destroyed objective reality, most characters will probably just accept whatever Boruto becomes afterward without even questioning it.
I know this sounds insane but if even HALF of this happens people are going to reread Boruto completely differently.
Because this series stopped being a normal ninja manga a long time ago.
i will once again, answer any question in the comments.
