How do I tell my long-term boyfriend I get cold sores? 😭
My boyfriend and I are moving in together soon and I’m honestly freaking out over something that probably sounds stupid to other people.
We’ve been together almost 4 years and I get cold sores occasionally. I’ve honestly just gotten really lucky with timing and not seeing him during my breakouts, so it somehow never really became a conversation. But now that we’re about to live together, I feel like I need to tell him and I’m terrified.
I know cold sores are common and logically I know this probably isn’t the huge life-ending thing my anxiety is making it out to be, but I still feel embarrassed and scared of being judged differently.
Has anyone else had to disclose HSV-1/cold sores in a long-term relationship YEARS in? How did the conversation go? I think I’m more afraid of making it awkward than anything else 😭
