On 08.02.26, ICE is at the San Luis Obispo, CA county jail raiding the lobby for the sixth time this week. They are waiting for someone just brought in who is eligible for cite and release. This person has not been arraigned in court and is given a court date months out. They were to be released four hours after being brought in per jail policy and are being held for ICE. The jail staff tells the person ICE is interested in them but they will not comply. Then they do comply. This is a violation of CA law and the US constitution.

This isn't an isolated incident. 81 people have been taken this way since the start of the year. Six of them in the past week alone. The Sheriff has been told this violates SB 54 by this community, by the Board of Supervisors' own votes, and by state law itself — and it keeps happening anyway.

If you live in SLO County, join us every Sunday at 10 am at Kansas Avenue and Hwy 1 to learn more and protest these ongoing and escalating raids of our community.
