I'm traveling internationally and will miss 3 unemployment certifications (plus one where I will be back in the US and able to certify, but will have been traveling the entire previous week).

I have called the DoL several times to report the travel and have been hung up on due to high call volume. The "secure messaging" system online also just directs you to call them. I know not to certify while I'm abroad, but will my benefits be canceled if I don't certify for 3-4 weeks?

What's the best course of action here?

I've been in a research job (data collection, analysis, and report drafting) for two years now, primarily dealing with counter-human trafficking projects. It's decent work, but it's hard to get proper hours and I've been drawn to working more directly with financial crimes investigations. Naturally, I've been eyeing a transition to AML or sanctions, and would love to hear some professionals in the field offer any advice. Are any certifications worth it to differentiate my profile at this stage? How is the field overall as a career?

I can read Russian and Spanish and have a non-finance bachelor's degree (international affairs) if it matters.
