Should Erza be proud [discussion]

I've seen this going around. People basically saying Erza is proud to be Irene's daughter or that Erza is honoring Irene.

Do you guys agree? Irene was pretty awful to her. Are people romanticizing their relationship?

Ash supernatural

I'm on episode 18 and I'm convinced that there is something supernatural about Ash. His abilities, his charisma, and how he can pretty easily seduce anyone. Pretty much everyone is attracted to him. Is there actually something supernatural about him? Please no major spoilers.

Erza's Dragon Slayer Armor [discussion]

What was the point of this? Literally pulled it out for a single moment only to get dropped immediately. It would have been better if she used new armor, because then we'd get to see something new from her instead of just swinging her sword for 1 second.

Why bother with making a whole new design for like 3 panels?

Also, where did it come from? I get that probably Wendy had something to do with it, but still it would have been nice to get some foreshadowing. Also would have been nice to have a lot earlier.

I just imagine Erza's thought process.

"I need to hurt this dragon, better switch to my dragon slayer armor" proceeds to hurt the dragon.

It transforms, she switches armor. "Damn it I can't hurt this dragon for some reason!".

She gets the dragon slayer enchantment, "Yeah I can hurt this dragon now!".

She comes off as kinda dumb here ngl

Calling out hypocrites [discussion]

This needs to be said after seeing people's reaction to Gray not supporting Juvia. Those who say he was right to do this, that it's not a big deal, and that people are overreacting: you guys are hypocrites.

You guys claim it's a gag so it's ok and it shouldn't be taken seriously, but you are the same people that get upset when other characters get mistreated through gags.

Like the Mest and Wendy gags, Lucy gags where she gets embarrassed and humiliated, the gag of Erza being harassed and treated like a dog by Kiria, that pisses you guys off. These are considered gags by the author that's why we refer them as such.

But when it comes to Juvia it's ok that she gets humiliated by the man that loves her. Gray not believing in Juvia leaving her completely upset in the hands of perverts is not funny. If that happened to Lucy you guys would lose your minds. You guys would lose your minds if Natsu didn't support Lucy or if Gajeel didn't support Levy.

But it's apparently ok for Juvia to get humiliated by Gray. You know the guy who sacrificed his life for her, sacrificed his life again because he refused to hurt Juvia, broke down when she sacrificed her life for him, and his promised to take her feelings more seriously.

You can't simply say it's Gray being cold but it doesn't work. We know after Alaverz he promised to become a man strong enough to protect her. He stops her from stripping and removes her from a party because he didn't want people looking at her half naked body. They are supposed to have a deep bond.

It doesn't matter if you think you it was logical to pick Erza over Juvia because it's a dumb decision. Guys out there you know you would catch HELL if you decided to not support your girlfriend in a competition. You'd have to be INSANE to not to.

I doubt any of you hypocrites will listen but this had to be said.

Edit: The hypocrites arguing against this never bring up that they would be so upset if Natsu didn't support Lucy or if Gajeel didn't support Levy. This is incredibly telling

[manga] What happened to Gray

This guy really cares more about winning than Juvia. Even after showing his lover for her in Alaverz and promises to take her more seriously he just doesn't care anymore wtf.

He has no faith in her ability to win and leaves her with some perverted old men. That's got to be so humiliating for Juvia.

Juvia doesn't get enough credit

I haven't seen anyone here acknowledge this and how powerful Juvia is here. But Juvia overpowering Anchor's human form is incredibly impressive. People think that Gray added attack power here but that's not the case. All Gray does is add an ice effect.

The narrative of this chapter emphasized Juvia's power. After Juvia splits Anchor's big water attack he is completely surprised and notes Juvia's increase in power.

And after Juvia wakes up Gray and explains what happened he says, "Maybe now Juvia could...". He doesn't say "we", he emphasized Juvia because she has become powerful enough.

They can't exactly hurt Anchor so Gray decides to freeze him so he can be immobilized. Dragons aren't immune to physical *effects* even if they come from magical sources.

Gray ice makes Juvia similarly to when they fought Metro, where he just changed her form into attacks. But these are not real unison raids as noted by Gray. Because they don't have both people channeling magic together. All Gray does is make Juvia ice.

This is not a Gray downplay or ignoring his contribution. His contribution was significant. But he didn't have much magic power left and he confirms this a few chapters later.

And this is a pissed off Anchor who wants to kill them, so this is a tremendous feat of power for Juvia

Juvia punch

I know this is outdated but I still think it's a bit crazy. Juvia punches Meredy so hard she flies several meters through a cliff side.

This does kinda tie in to her recent feat of overpowering human form Anchor with her ice punch. And there are people saying she has low attack power.

This Spell [discussion]

We kind of glossed over this, but this water clone spell is crazy. Making a perfect copy that can even mimic blood, clothing, and voice using water.

I'd like to see the upper limits of this.

Remember when this guy was relevant, cool, and interesting? Why did Oda turn him into a punching bag then just forget about him.

Koby and Tashigi are more relevant than him now. No shade to them it's just weird.

I know Oda has some plan for him like him becoming an Admiral or getting an awakening but it honestly feels Oda made mistakes with him in Punk Hazard and decided to just sweep him under the rug instead of fixing it.
