Acnologia "FINAL"
I keep reading "Acnologia was defeated with power of friendship" and that's an atrocious way to simplify things.
I'm going to divide this in three sections.
Pre SBT
Acnologia vs Fiore
Acnologia vs 7DS inside SBT
Anna defines SBT as "Not a power. More like a concept-"
Acnologia tanks, devours and breaks through SBT
Acquires "the magic of time… The power of time"
Eternal flare
"Absorbs the DS into SBT"
He's in the ocean but that doesn't matter he still can target the DS in land and send them to "his world"
First and second reasons Acnologia lost.
Too much power made him "loss control" "it caused him to split in two… a flesh Acnologia and a spirit Acnologia"
He was holding back because he needed the DS alive to stabilize his magic. "He wants their magic to circulate through the SBT, to stabilize his magic"
Acnologia vs Fiore
"El plan"
"the flesh" follows it's instincts.
I've seen people confused on why Erza's swords managed to push Acnologia, those are real swords.
You can think of it as the same way that devil from Black Clover from the elf arc was.
Erza also has "magical" swords, or swords with Enchants but her magic is re-equip, it's a dimensional storage with tons of real armors and weapons.
Regardless, I'm pretty sure Acnologia was never stated to be immune to magic, he can eat all kinds of magic, with no trait, has super high resistances, but as I said, I'm pretty sure he was never stated as immune. "Magic doesn't work on me" is far too vague to claim immunity.
Acnologia (a dragonslayer who lost control and became a true dragon) shares the same weakness all dragonslayers have, motion sickness on vehicles.
Here we haven't even touched SBT and we have our third and fourth reasons of why Acnologia was defeated.
The 3rd one, motion sickness (may sound dumb, but Natsu literally can't fight in vehicles, I'm saying Natsu because it's the one we see the most but it's the same for the rest)
4th one is the mages of the whole continent and Fairy Sphere, a "spell that stops time."
I had people looking weird at me when I said that, but how would you explain a 7 year time-skip without aging a single day?
SBT fight
I haven't really seen people talking about what I'm going to say but, Acnologia seems to have won a similar power to Zeref FH, with just devouring SBT.
"I have gained space-time magic from the SBT"
"I will rise past the limits of space and time and destroy the world"
And as I said, Acnologia needed the DS alive to stabilize himself, idk where the idea of "the 7 DS scaling to Acnologia" came from (and if someone can point to some evidence that says otherwise, it's welcome) but HELL NO.
Natsu pisses off Acnologia and...
This may be the first instance of the fight where Acnologia doesn't hold back out of anger, he's also surprised "My attacks! Why didn't…"
Wendy enchants DS magic into Natsu, which is not new from here.
We had Wendy enchanting multiple stuff multiple times, we had Natsu eating Laxus lightning back in Tenrou, we had also Sting and Future Rogue with eachothers powers.
So the 5th reason would be, it looks ugly af, but it wasn't an "asspull", it happened several times before, it was established.
And that's the moment where Fairy Sphere amped up by the mages from the continent kicks in "My body… I can't move…"
And he panicks and tries to block with the arm Igneel got back in Tartaros arc.
So the whole situation adds up, and he fails to block Natsu attack.
Attack still strong enough to completely erradicate him.
(Minus the other arm and Faris, duh)
So quick recap on how was Acnologia defeated.
1. Unstable, "spirit" and "flesh" separated.
2. Holding back, he needed the DS alive to stabilize his magic.
3. Motion sickness on vehicles, well known DS weakness.
4. Fairy Sphere amped up by the mages from the continent, FS that can interact with "Time" somehow and also was effective in the past.
5. The "rainbow flames/7 DS flames" may look ugly (may is an understatement, I hate ts) but enchanting/absorbing powers from other slayers has always been a thing in FT.
6. With all that, at the moment of the attack, Acnologia panicked (not because of Natsu magic, but because of the whole situation) and while having his movement restricted he tried to block with the arm he forgot he lost, thus not blocking anything and dying.
BTW not denying some sort of Power of Friendship factor, every shonen has that, but I feel people is blind on purpose with this one.

Acnologia and Dragon Gods/Calamity Bloods… "¿Equals?" Let's find out.
People disagree with Acnologia and Dragon Gods being equal, focusing on the "Arguably".
"Each of them is arguably as strong as Acnologia" and while I understand the reasoning I don't think Elefsaria is lying here.
Don't get me wrong, he's a fucking liar, wdym the reward is "anything you can imagine" but you can't kill 6 lizards? (In comparison with the reward, no disrespect to the DGods)
But the point is neither Elefsaria nor DGods or Calamity Bloods knew about SBT or "SBT Acnologia".
They knew the Acnologia from 400 years ago.
"You're saying we're 400 years in the future?"
"what happened to Acnologia?"
"Even we couldn't take down Acnologia when we banded together…"
And even then all of them lost.
But statements are never enough so let's look at Acnologia's feats 400 years after defeating the Calamity Bloods (since we don't have feats from that era), and also at the DGods feats in comparison to find out, how "equal" they're
Keep in mind the Acnologia that defeated the CB's should be MUCH WEAKER compared to the feats we have to look at, I mean, duh it's 400 years later.

Acnologia tanks Igneel's roar (thanks to another user I also have multiple pieces of evidence for "prime Igneel" being the top 2 in-verse behind Acnologia=)
Acnologia kills Igneel, this has to be by far his most impressive preSBT feat imo

God Serena is out. He was to OP for his own good, even after bringing him back weakened it was Gildarts business.
That would be all for Acnologia feats pre-SBT
Dragon Gods feats
Merc is like a Golden Retriever, he doesn't really have a lot of fighting feats, the most impressive to me was "water in the sky and water underground" at the same time
Also this, but it ain't his feat, lol
VSBW has Elefsaria at fucking universal for beating Dogra 100 years ago, I don't even want to explain how wrong is that.
Dogra durability is above Selene who "lost" in human form against that same move against Suzaku.
Furthermore they couldn't even hurt Dogra until the orbs were broken, similar with Aldoron, his seeds and Natsu not being able to see Aldoron's attacks.
Viernes "The sky it's turning gold!" self-explanatory.
Selene. Selene.
I always share the one flooding Ermina from Elentir or the one making the moon bigger, but I also like this one even if it is a lot more abstract (the moon breaks like glass)

Levia "sucks" Laxus soul, (yeah, saved by Wraith, still impressive magic)
Eternal Flare by Faris (this was the move Acnologia did after eating SBT)
Ignia "absorbs" Faris/a collaboration? idc
Ignia nosells the same move that defeated Acnologia but not under the same circumstances but not under the same circumstances (thank god this happened I don't want to see that ugly ass giant rainbow bs never again)

Conclusion
I feel like DGods have done more than enough to be worthy of the claim "arguably as strong as Acnologia" not only from 400 years ago, but as far as pre SBT era.
Some DGods have even better feats than Acnologia (up until Acnologia eating SBT, with that feat not included) but they would still lose against him because of the nature of the matchup, they use magic, and magic just ain't going to make it against Acnologia.
Also I feel it's worth taking into consideration Elefsaria wasn't talking as a powerscaler, he was probably referring to how dragons are an unstopabble force humanity can't really deal with and the amount of destruction they can cause, and as I said, I feel almost every single one of the Dragon Gods have shown feats on the same lvl or even superior to pre SBT Acnologia.
So makes sense for Elefsaria to say that, when the Acnologia they knew was a much weaker version.
