I don’t know if it just a reading slog but I feel Shadows upon time takes quite a while to start, and revisiting of what has happened. Gives Disquiet Gods vibe. How does the pace feel when you started. I am 20% in and I am still struggling.

I went through Ashes of Man in 6 days; I couldn't put it down. It wasn't slop; it was unweaving, >!and I was crushed more for Lorian than I had to admit!<. I've seen the synopsis of Dregs of Empire, yet I feel like diving into Disquiet Gods; I am afraid of what CR would lay out for me.

Dear fellow readers, which path do you advise taking?
