MOCA is doing a free film screening tonight for the film Hamnet, and I want to know if anyone else has any experience with their free screenings. I am incredibly socially anxious, I need to know what to expect lol.
This movie is excellent. Genuinely fantastic. It will be one of the best movies of the year.
I am going to tell you something in advance though. Something I should’ve assumed but didn’t: if you are a victim of domestic violence or abuse, don’t watch this film. Or at the very least, be wary of it. I saw the early screening of the film in the theater, and it shook me to my core. When the movie ended, I went to my car to have a panic attack. I’m not saying it will affect you in that manner, but I believe it is a movie that will bring you some very uncomfortable memories if it’s an experience you’ve had (I can personally attest to this). The movie was great, I’m not sure if I regret seeing it yet. Only time will tell. I need to get some sleep.
