You've just strolled into the Nag's Head--who are you having a pint with?

I'd sit next to Trigger. He's not a tight arse so will buy you a drink, will be a laugh and won't try to sell you a mobile phone with instant aerial or a Russian handheld cam-corder.

Recommend me a PCT book?

I never go hiking myself, but really enjoyed a few books about the Apalachian Trail--I enjoyed Becoming Odyssa and the two by thebarefoot sisters.

Does anyone have a similar recommendation for the PCT--a fun book about the hike and the people who go on the trail.

I tried one by a hiker called Scout but couldn't get into it--it just kept switching too much between different people and their backgrounds and stuff. Too meandering.

cheers

Basically looking for something fun, but not frustrating. Middle road difficulty. Scary is ok, scary is fun and I love horror. I like puzzle games but not frustrating ones--Toy Trains is a good example of the difficulty for puzzles games, makes me think but the solutions are doable without having to take my headset off and consult a gaming guide. Or Escaping Wonderland which I played recently. Moss 1 and Moss 2 are also good examples (completed both earlier this year) of the sort of difficulty I enjoy.

For horror--I have a few in my backlog. Madison (but I hear the puzzles are very difficulty and tedious and cryptic) and I also have Get Out, Five Nights at Freddie's Help Wanted, Afterlife VR, Propogation Paradise Hotel and Alien: Rogue Incursion in my backlog.

Nothing hugely long--not looking for a massive time sink. Maybe up to eight hours in length.

And a few games I tried the past couple of days but didn't enjoy (Pirates VR -- crap combat, Doctor Who The Edge of Time -- frustrating puzzles, Runner -- throws too many gameplay mechanics at you early on)

cheers
