Dream Air Already Broken Day 1

Finally received my Dream Air that I've been excited to try for months now but I have to say my first experience is really disappointing. I was pretty concerned when the unit they had Linus testing at CES had the headstrap pop off and fall apart on him. They swore this was only an issue with the pre-production units and that this was completely fixed.

I took my headset out of the box, slid the strap down gently over the back of my head, and immediately felt it pop. Pushed the clasp back into the stem and tried again but it just easily pulls right back out. The left side if very firmly attached (can't pull it out even when I try to while pushing the button which is it's own problem honestly) but the right side comes out with almost no effort. I tried pushing the release button a few times thinking maybe it was jammed but nothing makes it lock firmly into place like it should.

The locking mechanism for this strap is just really poorly designed. It's either way too tight or way too loose.

Unfortunately that wasn't really the only disappointing aspect of the first experience either. The face gasket is pretty uncomfortable. I knew it wasn't going to be great since they're supposedly shipping us a more final version of it later but I really didn't like how much it presses into the sides of my eye sockets. It's very distracting and breaks the immersion from otherwise beautiful panels and lenses.

It also was running really poorly for some reason. I have an RTX 5090 with a 9950X3D and 64GB of RAM. Even in my Galaxy XR I get 80-90 FPS in most VRC worlds easily but with the Dream Air I was only seeing maybe 35 FPS on average with the default settings?

I hope these issues can be fixed because I really want to love this headset. I need a high end wired replacement for my Index and almost no one else is offering that right now. I put in a support ticket and waiting to see what they say.
