Need career advice (PH accountant): CPA vs work first vs AU pathway? Feeling lost sa direction

Hi everyone, I need honest advice from accountants here.

Quick background:
- Graduated 2022
- First job is in audit (started jan 2025)
- May 2 busy seasons experience na ako (audit + tax compliance + FS preparation)
- CPALE taker, but failed twice
- Current salary is around ₱26k gross

Now my dilemma is:

I’m planning my next move, and I’m torn between:

Option 1: CPA review this year
Take time to review and aim for CPALE first, then job hunt after.

Option 2: Work first (Australia-focused / CMA-relevant roles)
Find a job first (preferably AU accounting / SMSF / shared services / FP&A roles), gain experience for 1–2 years, then take CPA later.

My long-term goal is also to explore opportunities in Australia (possibly student visa + work pathway).

My questions:

  1. Is CPA really necessary ASAP to get better roles, or okay lang delayed?
  2. Mas okay ba mag-work muna (especially AU-focused roles) before CPA?
  3. Will I lose opportunities if I delay CPA for experience and migration plans?
  4. Any advice from people who went through similar situation?

I feel like I’m overthinking everything and I just want a realistic direction from people who have been in the field.

Thank you in advance!
