Late filing for BIR Form 1700 (Zero Tax Due) – Do I still need to go to RDO or can I just pay the ₱1,000 compromise penalty online via Form 0605?

I’m a pure compensation earner and recently filed my BIR Form 1700 late using eBIRForms.

Tax Due: ₱0.00 (My taxes were 100% withheld by my employer per Form 2316)
Status: I already submitted Form 1700 via eBIRForms and received the Tax Return Receipt Confirmation (TRRC) email.

Since there is no tax due, my plan is to submit BIR Form 0605 on eBIRForms and pay the ₱1,000 online using GCash or Maya

Questions:

  1. Do I still physically need to go to my RDO to get an assessment, or is filling out Form 0605 and paying online sufficient?

  2. Will paying Form 0605 online officially clear/settle the late filing penalty in the BIR system without an RDO visit?

Appreciate any advice from anyone who has gone through this process! Stay safe and dry

Need help. I have to pay 1701Q tax. Sarado office ngayon. Late na po ba ako?

Professional, 8% rate po ako. Lagpas na ng 250k threshold. August 17 po ako nakapagfile. May babayaran daw na around 5k.

Di po kasi alam ng accountant ng office if magbayad na ako kasi alam nya, year end na sila nagbabayad.

E kako, baka may penalty. I tried yung myEG, Nag-404 ng August 17. Tapos baha na everywhere.

Confirmation email was August 18.

August 18, naka-work from home ulit (government). Bukas holiday. Sa August 20 pa kami may access sa PC kung saan nagfafile (nandun yung amount abd details).

  1. Late na po ba ako by August 20 magbayad?

  2. Saan po iinput yung binayaran? Sa 3rd quarter na po?

First time ko po and super scared sa penalties :(

Registered my e-commerce business in 2024 but haven't filed yet. Need advice

Hi everyone, I'm hoping to get some advice because I'm finally trying to fix my BIR compliance.

I registered my e-commerce business back in August 2024, but unfortunately I haven't filed my tax returns since then. I also haven't retrieved my invoice booklet from the accredited printer.

The business is started relatively small but now gaining traction. I'm now planning to go to my RDO and start fixing everything rather than letting it get any further but still a bit nervous.

I'm just not sure what the proper order is. I'm also considering whether I should handle this myself or get an accountant/consultancy to help with the catch-up filings.

I'm mainly worried about the possible penalties since it's already been quite some time. I also want to start using proper invoices going forward.

My questions are:

Can I request a new ATP and invoice booklet first even though I still have missed filings from 2024 onwards?

Do I need to pay the penalties immediately once BIR computes them, or is there any option to pay in installments?

Is it realistic that the penalties alone could be below ₱10k, or am I likely looking at a much bigger amount?

Would it be better to DIY the catch-up filings or hire an accountant/consultancy?

Would really appreciate some advises.

how to pay taxes

hello po! it will be my first time to pay my taxes since i’m already past the ₱250,000 threshold. paano po ba magbayad through paymaya? kapag po kasi pinipindot yung instructional video for maya, naka private naman siya sa youtube. 🥲

nakapagfile naman na po through eBIRforms, pero wala pa natatanggap na email confirmation. i’ll proceed nalang to pay since meron naman akong screenshot na nag-success na yung pag file ko with the timestamp. today na kasi deadline 🥲

thank you in advance!

Accountants and bookkeepers: could we get your feedback on our free BIR 2307 tool that creates certificates in bulk?

Hi everyone,

We built EZ2307, a free browser-based tool for accounting teams, bookkeepers, and Philippine businesses that regularly prepare BIR Form 2307 certificates.

The process is straightforward:

  • Download and complete the EZ2307 Excel template by supplier
  • Select the completed workbook
  • Review any issues detected
  • Generate and download the certificates as one combined PDF

There’s no sign-in or subscription required. Your workbook, optional signature image, and generated PDF are processed locally in your browser and aren’t uploaded to an external server.

You can try it here:
ez2307.getquotable.ai

We’d genuinely appreciate feedback, especially from people who regularly prepare Form 2307. We are continuously improving the tool based on your feedback.

What would make the tool more useful for your workflow?

Is it legal to tax a freelance labor with 8k salary

just confused as to why my mother, who was contracted to do a job doing handicrafts for a local export corporation, was deducted P160 for her 8k salary. this is not a regular job and she isn't an employee of the company.

im not knowledgeable about taxation but i know that monthly taxable income applies to minimum P20,833.

P160 is a small amount to others, but I just couldn’t ignore the possibility that they are taking advantage of people who probably won't question these deductions

1701Q late confirmation email

I filed my 1701Q last August 12 and only got the email confirmation at 4:43AM today. The thing is, I filed for an amended one today at around the same time frame because I was so worried that there wasn't an email the first time + system was down for the past days.

The acknowledgement email was towards the one I filed last August 12. Do I take this email confirmation as is, or do I delete the one I initially filed and keep the amended one, or do I contact my local RDO just in case?

Availed 8%, so nothing to pay for this quarter. Hope someone can help me out. Thanks in advance y'all 🙏🏻

I want to register my business kay BIR. I'm hesitant because of my salary.

For context, I earn around 650,000 annually from my salary excluding allowances outside of my de minimis.

My business is just pretty small, I just started last April. I sell expensive stuffs pero my actual average profit is only 250.00 each unit. April, i only sold 4. May, I sold 11. 16 on June and July came like a surprised, I was able to triple my previous sale ending July on 57. So the items I sell, like I said average profit is 250 but may mga items din na yung profit ko is 500-1000. Highest was 3000 (once lang to). But for most days, 250 lang talaga minsan lower pa. For July, my total sales was around 70-80k. Hindi nacompute how much yung expenses ko and yung earnings ko. Didn't expect it to blow up.

Now, I want to register my business. Nagcommit na ako, I registered it sa DTI. I want to register it with BIR next but I'm hesitating now considering I'm a mixed income earner, earning an average of 250.00 per unit. Highest sale was just 57 units. I don't know how to proceed because I might be taxed like 30k above eh I'm not even earning that much for this business kung yung 8% tax ang susundin. For example noong July, ang estimated profit ko from 70-80k sales ay nasa 20k.

Any suggestions what to do?

Edit: I only sell on facebook and carousel as of now. Idk if this helps

Ongpin jewelry store sales invoice issue

Hello! For context me and my fiance were in binondo to look for wedding rings. We decided to buy from this shop along ongpin that was also suggested by reddit. Upon payment I requested to be issued a sales invoice for the rings. But open giving them my business card for the name that will be written on the receipt, the owner refused stating, “di kami pwede sa construction” since I was planning to have it issued under my hardware and general merchandise business.

I looked confused since this is my first time experiencing a business refusing to issue a sales invoice due to the name and nature of my business to be charged. He eventually replied, “ok pero add kami 12%”. I was already confused and irritated at this point kaya sabi ko nalang “wag na, ok na po thank you”. And in the end they just put a line on the name part and still gave me the sales invoice.

I am looking for some insight on this situation. Na binigay naman din yung sales invoice pero bakit may add na 12% if lalagyan ng name.

Thank you everyone.

Receipt shows Less 12% VAT and Plus 12% VAT

Shopped at Landers and presented a Senior Citizen's card.

Receipt shows that it has less 12% VAT but negated it with plus 12% VAT.

What's with that?

[EDIT] Thanks to the kind strangers who enlightened me on this post. Today I learned. Pero ang sakit pa rin nung 12%.
