Service Invoice and Form 2307

Hello! I want to ask lang regarding service invoice and 2307. I’m freelancing right now and I am new at my job. The company pays me daily and gives me a form 2307 daily. I asked regarding issuance of service invoice and sabi nila hindi ko need magbigay. I get the net amount with 10% deducted already. Do I really not need to give service invoice as a professional? Or can I just issue without giving it to them kasi wala naman magrereceive? Hahaha i asked both accounting and HR sabi nila di po need ang service invoice. Thank you in advance for the insights!

BIR rejected my 8% tax election through Taxumo

I’m a freelancer using Taxumo for 3 years.
For 2023–2026, I filed Q1 1701Q with the 8% option selected through Taxumo.

According to the memorandum RMO 23-2018, the 8% option can be renewed through the Q1 1701Q filing. Taxumo says our filings were correct.

However, our local RDO says they also require a sworn statement every year, otherwise they do not honor the 8% election and instead treat us as graduated tax + 3% percentage tax.

Because of this:

  • we now have around ₱211k in open case taxes fron 2024, 2025 and now 2026.
  • and for 2026 they force us into graduated tax without 40% OSD since Q1 was already filed under 8%

That would massively increase our taxes.

What worries me even more is that the our local accountant is now recommending underdeclaring the income instead of properly resolving the issue.

Has anyone experienced something similar with:

  • RDOs rejecting the Q1 1701Q 8% election?
  • sworn statement requirements?
  • escalation to BIR Head Office?

Our local accountant dont want to question the RDO.
Taxumo say we should report the RDO to BIR Head office.

Advice?

What is the law regarding issuing receipts?

May kasi ako nabasa na:

  1. if non-vat biz - "only required to issue invoice if sales is more than 500p or the customer ask for it".

  2. vat registered biz - "regardless of the amount required po sya mag issue ng invoice."

How true is this kung based on tax law?

And if totoo, anong speicfic tax law nagsasabi nito?

Ty!

8% Self-employed rate

I’m a consultant registered as self-employed, non-VAT (below Php3 million) with a tax rate of 8%.

However, all of the firms I consult for automatically deduct 10% from my professional fee.

Where and how do I collect the difference?

Should I inform the firms so they just deduct 8% (is that allowed?) or is it a refund from BIR?

Disallowed Input Tax

Hello po. Our input tax was disallowed due to alleged nonpresentation of supporting docs. We submitted invoices during NOD stage. When we requested for update, sa PAN na lang raw makikita yung adjustment. Yung mga pinasang invoices, disregarded sa PAN. No formal letter was submitted by then, just transmittal. BIR's computation was only SLP - TPI. How to contest this po kaya?

Will be employed by SG company but will work PH remotely (expected annual income > 3M)

Hi ppl of reddit, magseek lang sana ako ng advice. I decided to go back PH and was hired by an SG company but will purely work remotely in PH. The company will send me monthly payments pero need ko lakarin yung tax ko in PH including goverment contributions and Im not entitled to any HMO also.

Now my question is, at first I thought I can do the 8% option but given na yung annual will exceed 3M, looks like its not possible. Graduated is too much for me like 1/3 of my salary will go to tax. Im thinking if there are other options like OSD, but not sure if applicable ako. Do you have any idea how to make it lower? Its just difficult to accept that I’ll pay too much tax given na wala naman improvement sa goverment ng PH 🥲

Also thinking of hiring an accountant but not sure what is the standard rate.

hahabulin ba ni BIR?

For context I’ve had 3 jobs na:

1st job - started June 2024, resigned July 2025
I did not give my 2316 to the next employer so ended up having 10k reimbursement in Dec of 2025
Total Taxable (based on my 2316): ₱206, 457.30

2nd job - started Aug 2025, resigned April 2026
Total deductions for withholding was included in my final pay (9k)
Total Taxable: ₱0

Current Job - I gave my 2316, started in May 2026

Question: How do I pay the BIR? Hahabulin ba nila ako for the taxes I didn’t pay? How much should I pay them?

How many "branches" have you registered in BIR?

I'm drowning in stacks of receipts and books of accounts. Is anyone else overwhelmed with EACH clinic needing to be registered with BIR? Is there a maximum number of branches you can register? I'm so confused already with 3 branches. And do you fill the books up on your own or subscribe to an accountant? How much do you think is a reasonable payment for an accountant to do these things for you?

Earning from a US-based platform and getting taxed in the US

hello po. so i have received a mail from this US-based platform I’ve been earning side income from. Tina-tax na nila ako sa US, and I just need advice on what to do with my earnings (after the US taxes), like idedeclare ko pa rin ba siya as is sa ITR ko (8% IT rate), need ko ba i-tick yung #15 sa form and if so, what difference will it make? may mababawasan man lang ba sa babayaran ko or wala?

finally, if need ko pa rin ifile itong earnings ko from the platform even though I was already taxed in the US, does it not constitute double taxation? May idea na ako but it would give me peace of mind if i also hear from others. I will raise this pa rin sa RDO namin. Just need some preliminary advice. Salamat po!

Missed filling

Hi taxpayers. Looking for advise. I'm on the 8% and filling through Ebirforms. I missed for 4 days to file the recently passed deadline for the IT 1st quarter filling. Same as since one year ago I was supossed to file a zero income filling. What I researched I can do is:

  1. Do now a Ebirforms late filling paying a 500 peso fine
  2. To not do now the filling and in the future if the missed filling is reflected as an open case pay on the BIR the penalty of 500 pesos only. Is so right? Thanks.

Late attachments filing on eAFS

And how much po ang penalty for each late submission? May mga nabasa akong ₱500-₱25,000 pero is this for each submission and nag-aaccumulate per month or fixed amount na? All my taxes were paid on time naman po, yung attachments lang talaga sa eAFS yung late. 🥲 Thank you po sa sasagot.

How much did you spend on BIR registration as professional?

How much did you spend on BIR registration as professional po? Lahat lahat na po including the documentary stamp, book of accounts at service invoice po?

And few questions po:

  1. For book of accounts, pwede po ba sa BIR na mismo bumili? Mas mura po ba sa kanila?
  3. May bayad po ba ang COR?

Thank you po.

So tinangal nila ung iab g expense slike
Minimum 2m ung hinihingi ng examiner sabi ng accountant.

Wala pang pan or fan.

Need advice: BIR TIN + Freelancing After Years of No Work — Any Penalties for Inactive Years?

Hi, I need some guidance regarding my tax situation.

I worked as a private employee from 2015 to 2021. My employer withheld my income taxes, and I believe I became tax-exempt under the TRAIN Law before I resigned in 2021.

From 2022 to 2026, I was in college and did not have any formal employment or registered business activity.

Now I’m starting remote freelance work and planning to use my existing BIR TIN.

My concern is:
Do I have any penalties, open cases, or tax delinquencies for the years I was not employed (2022–2026)?

Or is it fine since I had no taxable income during that period?

Any advice on what I should check with BIR or steps I should take to regularize my status would be greatly appreciated.
