Vehicle Pre Purchase Inspection

Bought a car from Carvana and want to get a pre-purchase inspection done by a reputable mechanic in town during their 7 day return window. Has anyone had one done lately that they can recommend?

I've had most work done on my vehicles by Westover Tire (who are great) and have had incredibly positive experiences with Glotfelty, South Park Service Center (which is under Westover Tire's Umbrella and has since rebranded to a Westover Tire shop too) and Morgantown Express Lube, but just trying to narrow down my search early as I would like to avoid having to spend a ton of time calling around shops in town for quotes and availability.

If anyone has any recent experience with a pre purchase inspection and can recall around how much it ran you, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Wife’s Due Date Coincides With F27 Bar - What Now?

Title says it all. I’m a first time taker who has been targeting the Feb 27 exam. I’m a non traditional student who graduated in December 2025 and work full-time already. We just found out my wife is pregnant with our 2nd child (and we are so excited!) and the due date is literally the first day of the Feb 27 exam.

Am I crazy for still wanting to aim to take this test? There will be so many factors here. She was induced at 37 weeks as a high risk pregnancy with our first (who will be 2 in February) and already faces odds of being high risk with a potential early delivery as well. I don’t want to bank on an early or late delivery allowing a buffer around the exam day, but I also can’t put this off til July at this point: I not only have 2 people counting on me, but I’ll have 3 now.

I already had a plan in place for my part-time study, which would not change here (I planned on doing enough to where the last week or so is for rest and flash card recall) but now the variable is a baby being born right up alongside the week of/days leading up to my exam and having a lack of sleep factor. I can withdraw from the exam and put the fees toward the next admin, but only if I 1) withdraw more than 60 days prior to the test date or 2) have an emergency situation once within 60 days of the exam (which I’m not sure they’re likely to consider if I know my wife is due right around the exam).

Looking for any advice and I hope I don’t sound insane by even fathoming this… lol. Of course, I absolutely will not miss the birth of my child or be out of commission whatsoever when it comes to helping with my kids, but this is something I’m not sure I can afford to put off, either.

Still waiting on approval

I’m in my grace period and I applied on the Department of Education’s website for income based repayment and received confirmation of my application on May 2, which said that there would be a decision in 7-10 days. Tomorrow makes 15 business days and I’ve heard nothing. Repayment starts one month from tomorrow.

Is this normal? Should I try to get ahold of my servicer? Will I be required to start paying the standard amount while I wait on IDR to be approved or will I be able to wait while it is pending? Thanks for any advice!

Still waiting for IDR review - loans enter repayment in one month

Hi all, I applied online for IDR and received confirmation of my application on May 2, citing that there would be a decision in 7-10 days. Tomorrow makes 15 business days and nothing. An IDR plan will substantially bring my payment down, and my repayment starts one month from tomorrow. Is this normal? Should I try to get ahold of EdFinancial? Will I be required to start paying the standard amount while I wait on IDR to be approved or will I be able to wait while it is pending? Thanks all.
