Advice - Application for City of Brampton

Hey all!

Just moved to Brampton this year to be closer to work. My company had announced that they are relocating their Brampton facility, offering jobs at other facilities but they are too far. The move happening later in the year.

The City of Brampton had a job posting for pretty much my exact position (which is already in a niche industry). It would be exactly what I need - A step up in my career (niche industry like i said - hard to come by), a very close commute (i live in downtown Brampton) and a job I know I would love. Since it’s a niche industry I feel I would be a perfect candidate who knows their stuff.

I am feeling anxious about it since it would be such an amazing opportunity at the perfect time since my company is relocating. Everything lines up for it.

I understand the City takes a while, but i’m feeling anxious about it since I don’t want to miss this awesome opportunity. Any advice on how to deal with this or how to better my chances?

I reached out to the hiring manager to learn more about the role but no response. P.S. if anyone would be willing to vouch for me I would genuinely buy you a steak dinner!! (Joking but also not joking)

Thanks for the help Brampton!

Greater Toronto Area, Canada 23M

Current employer is closing down the facility I work at. Offering jobs at other facilities but the ones they are offering are too far. They have closer offices but no guarantees there are openings there. We were told a 6-12 month timeline.

I have a job offer from another company with a 15k raise from my current wage. Though I don’t see growth in the role (technical service rep in the print industry) and I don’t want to be in that part of the sector long term.

I already know I won’t like the job that I got an offer for. But I feel like i’m running out of time for my current facility closing.

2021 Subaru Impreza (not lifted nor lowered)

Had to drive over a curb this morning and fit between two cars. Might be overthinking this. Anything I should check for? Pretty loud thump but no scraping

It drives fine, i’m just worried as I never had to drive over a curb like this
