My friend has been saying for months how the only character she wants in rivals is mystique and I keep trying to think how they could make that work but it just seems so insanely broken to me, no?
Like if she can perfectly copy an ally then what could she do in that ally’s form because obviously she can’t actually use other people powers at least non physical powers so like she would still have to use her regular kit but would that knock her out of the copy or would she be able to stay transformed and still shoot and that’s how you tell the difference but then like I guess I don’t really see a purpose when you could just make an invisible character do the same I don’t know and then like what would her ult be and how long of a cool down would her transform ability be and would she be able to copy allies or just enemies
Would she be able to fake attack her own team or like how would you be able to tell who the real teammate is unless if you shoot her to heal her and it damages her and would that knock her out of her transformation
And even if she does get back there like what would her movement be like because if she gets back there and get hit out of her transform everyone is just gonna dog pile on her and she’ll explode will she have a dash or something
Plus wouldn’t they need to code in animations for each hero to preform her abilities unless she can’t use them while transformed idk there are just so many questions and they all either sound broken or bad and easily out done by a different dive character
(Maybe that’s why she’s not in the game and this is a stupid post)

Ok some of these characters are not niche but some are niche enough that I think it’s ok

1. Blink. I love her character design. I love her pink skin with her green costume. I think she would have very cool interactions with other X-Men on the roster. I do think she’s going to be beat out by nightcrawler another teleporting mutant, but I would love to see her pink portals enter the game. She’s one of my favorite X-Men and I love her backstory and how she was basically useless in her first run, but I would just love to see her in rivals.

2. Thena. Out of all of the Eternals I think she has the most potential aside maybe Sersi to come to rivals. I would love to see her ability to conjure up weapon weapons translated into rivals. I think she has the potential to be a high skill DPS. She would be a great addition to the roster. I thought about adding Druig or makkari or Sersi to this list, but I have always liked Thena better and would love to see her in rivals.

3. Medusa. I love characters that have interesting hair whether it’s a color or a cut I don’t know what it is, but it draws me to that character immediately so characters that use their hair to fight are definitely very interesting to me. I think she’s one of my favorite inhumans and I think we need some inhuman representation in Marvel rivals and I think she would be a great first addition, if she came before black bolt which I don’t think she will, but one can dream.

4. Domino. Although I am very scared to see how people will react to this character I would love to see her added. I think people went crazy rightfully so about Wanda’s ult being changed to include rng and how people thought that was stupid although in a way, I agree with them I would be interested to see how they would base a whole kit around something like rng she’s my favorite X Force member and I would love to see her added

5. Dani Moonstar. I would be very interested in how her power would translate. I would love for them to lean into the fear illusion abilities. I think that is such a cool power and would be very interested to see how they put it into rivals. Whether it’s specific to certain heroes and their fears or like a bear. I think she would be the first Native American hero on the roster, which would be cool, but definitely might open a door to another point of racism within marvel rivals, and I definitely don’t want to see that happen. I think there is for sure away to add in a character like Dani Moonstar without it being seen as culturally insensitive so hopefully they do it properly

6. Photon. We definitely need some more black superheroes in the roster and I think photon is an obvious choice. She is such a cool character and I think her power set would translate so beautifully to rivals and if by the time they add photon they’ve added Captain Marvel like the leaks say the interactions would go crazy so she is definitely a character that I would play and love to see in the game

7. Gamora. OK I definitely cannot get away with calling this one niche but I do think she would be a great addition to the roster. She is one of the most badass women in the whole Marvel universe and I know I’m not alone in saying that we want Gomorra in rivals. I also think that they need to fill the guardians roster more because you can’t have half of a family so I still need nebula and Yondu and Cosmo and drax don’t get me wrong. I love the characters we have mantis is my favorite guardians character, but I definitely think there’s still room for the others and I’m surprised they haven’t talked about adding the rest more. I think the only one I’ve heard anything about is Drax and maybe recently Cosmo with the gallery card and the map that she’s in but other than that, I would love to see the sisters game as well as Mary Poppins

8. Firestar. OK this one is definitely a little niche so you can’t get mad at me for this I think she’s a very cool character and she would definitely have a lot of great interactions with Emma Frost. I think she would be a little bit similar to Johnny, but there are definitely ways to make her different like maybe she is a strategist that could be cool. I think she would introduce a lot of people to her character and hopefully have some more media surrounding her character because of it

9. Songbird. I think her design is so cool and her powers would translate so well into the game. I think she should have some great interactions with other characters on the roster. I don’t really know a whole lot about her, but I’m definitely very intrigued by her character and I think she would get a lot of people hyped for that girl in the MCU that people are theorizing is Songbird

10 Polaris. She is definitely not niche at all. I think I’ve given up on the whole niche thing, but I would love to see the house of Magnus get another addition she would definitely be very fun to play. I love her personality and love her character design plus again she would have great interactions with so many other heroes on the roster.

11. Agatha Harkness. I’ve said this since day one she would be a perfect addition to the tank roster her ability to steal other people‘s life force is the perfect life steel ability if I’ve ever heard one, she could absorb abilities like sigma and overwatch and release it in a powerful blast or I don’t know she could even have the same kind of suck that Wanda does and just be a 700 HP tank. I don’t really care Agatha would just be a very cool character to add to marvel rivals and I think she is definitely different enough both looks wise and abilities that she would not be confused with Wanda

12. Scream. OK so I think it’s becoming obvious that I am LGBTQ because literally every character that I could come up with is a woman or a female variant so that wasn’t intentional. I did have men on this list but there’s only so many pictures I could use I don’t really know a lot about this character. I’m not gonna fake it. I just like her design And everybody seems to want carnage and say that he’s different enough so who knows maybe scream is different enough from both venom and carnage and Spider-Man to add to the roster or something. I just think that her hair/symbiote is so cool and I love her design

13. Crystal. She is my personal favorite inhuman. I love her powers. I always like characters that have elemental manipulation. I think finding a balance between all four elements and having like a switch maybe like she has four modes one for each element that gives her a different move set would be super cool. I just really like characters with interesting hair and just think she’s super cool and definitely works in the art style of rivals

14. Yelena Belova. I think maybe before the black widow changes this made a little bit more sense. I still am a big advocate that they should’ve included dual pistols in black widows kit, and I don’t know maybe they could do all the things that they didn’t add to Black widow in Yelena‘s kit Like her stun that shoots out of her wrists or her dual pistols or like anything else that a spy could do I don’t know. I’m kind of on the fence on this because obviously she is a little bit similar and would be hard to translate without making it a little strange as to why you have both, but I don’t really think people would mind that much because Yelena is a very loved character so you could definitely get away with it

15. Hellcat. A very interesting character design with a very interesting backstory. Would she play a lot like black cat yes do I know how they would make her different minus the shop no but I would love to see her come to the game. I think she’s very cool and that’s honestly really it. I don’t really know a whole lot about her but I do think she is a very bad ass character and I would love to see her in the game.

16. Moonstone. People really want villains and I think she’s a really cool villain. Yes she was a good guy for a while, but that was under a different alias and that could tie her into having some really cool interactions with Songbird because they were both in thunderbolts I don’t know if she’s just a very cool character. Very cool design would be very interesting in marvel rivals

17. Pixie. One of my other favorite mutants I tried not to include too many X-Men in this list because I know how tired people are of just getting constant X-Men in rivals. I definitely agree that we need other groups to have a roster as well, which is why I tried to include some Eternals and some inhumans but pixie is one of my other favorite X-Men and I do think she actually has a good chance of coming to rivals. She’s definitely a little more well known and very liked. I think her powers are super cool and she has a very interesting design I think plenty of people would love to play her and I’d be very interested in seeing how they make a kit surrounding her abilities.

18. Legion. You thought black cat had too many buttons well think again I would love if they just made Legion like have so many abilities that you have to like get a second keyboard or something. I don’t know. I think he’s such a cool character and so crazy powerful I don’t know how they would power scale him into this game, but I don’t really care. I think such a cool character idea of having DID and like having the splits have multiple different powers as well is such a cool character design choice and they really did their big one with this character but yeah, I think he would go really well with some of the other heroes in the roster. I think this character might be one of the only other ones aside Deadpool that I could see being in all three roles because of how many abilities he truly has and how they could like, make it so that his alter ego’s are assigned a specific role and when you play as One legion you have like a list of alter egos you can use and their abilities I don’t know it would just be super cool and super fun.

19. Nico Minoru. Need them to add some runaways and she was already talked about by a few people on the inside, so hopefully that means she’s coming soon. I think a lot of people really want her and she would definitely be a very loved character in the game she’s definitely not niche because she’s probably the only runaways character that anyone could name But she definitely is very cool and I would love to see her. Add it to the game. (I would love karolina or Gertrude as well)

20. Opal Luna Saturnyne. She has so much aura it’s insane I loved her in the x of swords and she has stuck in my brain ever since I think she would just be so cool I would love to see her interact with some of the hero’s like Luna like what is Luna snow gonna say to the Omniversal Majestrix
    “oh yes Luna snow I guess we are similar I keep the entire multiverse safe and your fans are a part of that and for your service I thank you and now move you up to my second in command you will lead the captain Britain corps now”
    No but seriously this one is more just like me taking the piss atp I don’t ever see them adding her but if they do I would be so happy and lord her immediately

Anyway sorry my list was long and probably not very interesting and full of women I just don’t connect much with male characters and I didn’t even get to talk about silver surfer or singularity who I also had on this list but there wasn’t enough room plus I think I heard people say silver surfer was teased somewhere so idk hopefully that would be cool
