Ninja Woodfire on Patio/Smoke Management
Hello! I was recently gifted a Ninja Woodfire. I love it. The only issue I have is I live in an apartment. We’re allowed to grill, but for the smoker function, there is a patio above me (I am on the third floor). Two walls on the patio are open; one is closed, the other is the apartment/sliding glass door. When I’ve been smoking things, the amount of smoke is too much to clear out on the patio quickly. Plus even if it does, it goes up into the patio above me. I’ve used a fan to blow the smoke out the side that is open with some limited success. I’m considering getting a high-heat resistant dryer hose and attaching it to the smoke exhaust to direct the smoke out better, and I have a small USB fan I considered placing inside the hose to pump the smoke out.
Is this a phenomenally stupid idea? Anything I’m not thinking about? It obviously works great as a grill without the smoke function, but feels like only using half the functionality.
