Absolutely Stumped On MAME / FB NEO Samples

Howdy friends,

I cannot, for the life of me, find where the correct place to put arcade game audio samples in order to get them to play in games (Donkey Kong, Astro Blaster, etc).

I've got the new stable build of ROCKNIX installed on my RGB30.

I'm unable to locate any of the usual spots to place the samples.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Pocket DOA Upon Opening

Hello fellow Pocketeers,

I just opened up my Pocket from the new batch.

The unit is DOA. Won’t power up, doesn’t charge off the included cable or the one in my photo.

No activity on the bottom LEDs.

Any suggestions before I send this bad boy back?

Thanks!

Vader 2600 Audio Issues

Fellow Atarians:

My Vader 2600 has what I would describe as an audio issue in which sounds are slightly clipped and decay on sounds drops off as though a release was really short on an ADSR envelope. It’s almost like the audio is having trouble breaking through.

During Yar’s Revenge all audio clips when Swirl attacks while the normal drone of the game throbs instead.

What component besides the TIA should I be looking at?

Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,

New to this sub, but didn't know of a better place to lay this out.

I’m posting to see if other VW Atlas or Atlas Cross Sport owners have run into the same issue with Recall 13i4, involving the engine connecting rod / connecting rod bearing defect.

I own a 2022 VW Atlas Cross Sport, purchased new in October 2021. My vehicle was inspected under Recall 13i4 in 2023, and I was told the defect was not present. The recall was then treated as completed.

Unfortunately, last week my vehicle developed what the dealership has now confirmed is the same engine defect covered by Recall 13i4. They're telling me I now need an engine replacement. I just clocked 49.5k miles and have followed all of the routine maintenance required by my dealership.

The problem is that VW is currently resisting coverage because the recall was previously marked completed after the inspection, and my factory warranty expired in October 2025. My dealership has confirmed the engine failure is tied to the Recall 13i4 defect and is now battling with VW on my behalf, but VW does not appear eager to help.

This raises a much bigger concern:

If a vehicle “passed” the recall inspection, but later developed the exact same covered engine defect, did the recall inspection actually remedy anything? All they did was check for the metal shavings in the oil from bearing wear. But VW's own technical document on the recall points out this issue manifests as progressive wear.

I’m trying to find out whether other Atlas / Atlas Cross Sport owners have experienced something similar, especially if:

  • Your vehicle was inspected under Recall 13i4 and marked completed
  • You later developed engine failure or connecting rod / bearing issues
  • VW denied coverage because the recall was “closed” or the warranty had expired
  • You were quoted for an engine replacement out of pocket
  • Your dealer confirmed the issue was related to Recall 13i4 but VW refused to authorize the repair

I am exploring whether there may be enough affected owners to speak with a consumer protection attorney about a potential class action or group legal action related to the adequacy of the recall inspection/remedy and VW’s refusal to cover confirmed failures after the recall was marked complete.

I’m not an attorney, and I’m not making any legal claims here. I’m just trying to connect with other owners who may have had the same experience so we can compare facts and decide whether this is an isolated situation or a broader pattern.

If this happened to you, please chime in.

Feel free to DM me as well if you do not want to post details publicly.

Thanks. I’m hoping this helps identify whether VW’s handling of Recall 13i4 is leaving owners exposed to major engine failures after being told their vehicles were “clear.”
