Medication is a godsend for alcohol cravings. Sober for 3 weeks now.

I used to take gabapentin years ago for physical and mental anxiety and it got to the point where I needed to get off it (personal reasons). However I've been struggling with weekend binge drinking disorder for the past year and half. Just got re-prescribed 300mg as needed when I get cravings (which are horrible). I take this medication and the cravings are absolutely non-existent. I can think about alcohol all I want but I have no desire to drink it or curiosity about being drunk.

Is it normal to get heart palpitations and weird pain in that area when tapering down?

I've been taking Paxil for 4/5 years and am on 20mg. Last week I was trying to taper down from 15mg to 10mg and I had to go back up to 20mg because I was getting a weird chest feeling/palpitations.

Is this normal? I keep freaking out about this because otherwise I am a healthy late 20 something.
