Affliction Propensity?
Anyone know if the odds of becoming afflicted are fixed, or if there are instead variables at play? i.e., does getting hit harder (a greater loss of total HP?.. Or maybe a larger damage value of attack - whether it gets through armor & resistances or not?) increase the odds of becoming afflicted?
Thanks
EDIT:
Most of the motivation for asking, btw, is that I like the idea of playing the Pale Ones. My assessment though, which seems to agree with what I gather to be the community consensus, is that Pale Ones are kinda bad. Maybe not the very worst of the factions, but they're not getting any higher than a grade of 'C'.
When I look at them, amongst a number of problems, is what I see as mostly a detriment, which is the size of their elite troops. I see advantages with a tanky, 2x2, hard-hitting unit, I def do. But I think there are more downsides to the footprint, than benefits. A big one in my mind is, ya - they may survive many more battles on average than a cavern guard, but I gotta think they will eventually be blind, and riddled with afflictions as they will be in both more battles by the time they are killed and will be drawing more fire in each of those battles due to their larger footprint. So, I'm thinking/hoping?... maybe they acquire fewer afflictions on average from a given attack than a troop with less max hp?.. so their footprint isn't as big a problem as it could be?
