Does anybody else feel this way?

Sorry to be a Debbie downer and make a hater post, but I just gotta know if anybody feels the same way I do about Chris Crofton.

I know he's a fan favorite for most people, but I personally don't actually enjoy listening to him ramble off the same rant 3 seperate times and take 45 minutes to get through overrated/underrated. Then when we finally get to the main part of the show we're lucky if they can go 5 whole minutes without him derailing the discussion.

Every time he's on Jack and Miles get through maybe 2 of the stories they're supposed to. I just find all of the episodes with him frustrating, does anybody else agree or am I the lone hater of everyone else's favorite guest?

How do I avoid coming off as "performative" as a guy newly in the dating scene?

Sorry for the long post but I'm a little stumped over a situation that just happened and hoping you ladies can help me out.

Context: I'm 31, my gf and I broke up after being together for 13 years(since high school). It was amicable and we're still friends, we just grew up to be too different of people basically.

So fast forward a few months and I finally check out the dating apps (oh my god this shit sucks I'm so sorry to all the people that've been single and feel they have to use these), and after a few weeks of making a very half-hearted profile and testing the waters I decide to put real effort into my bio. I include "Fuck Trump, fuck ice, ACAB" in there which seems relevant to all this.

I match with someone and they actually messaged me first. We didn't text back and forth for long, since we live close enough to be familiar with the same places and are both into coffee I ask her if she wants to meet up at my usual 3rd wave place for a coffee date and she says yeah.

This is technically my first first date as an adult, and I'm somewhat awkward and pretty introverted so I'm pretty nervous beforehand, but when she got their I calmed down surprisingly quickly. We asked about each others life stories, other hobbies and whatnot. Stuff that I assume is pretty standard first date conversation material. It feels to me like we're hitting it off pretty well.

She asks me about my work, I tell her I'm a delivery driver for restaurant/hotel linens and she comments that it must be boring being alone all day/she couldn't handle not having coworkers. I tell her that I like being able to listen to podcasts and audiobooks all day, and she asks what I listen to and makes a joke about me being a Rogan bro (so she's already sussed out my politics enough to know I wouldn't be)

I gave her a rundown of what came to mind. Behind the Bastards, Weird little Guys, LPOTL, The Daily Zeitgeist, Morbid and Sounds like a Cult. She asks how I know about the last one and I tell her I read Cultish by Amanda Montell (the host) and found out she does a spin-off podcast, which she seems to me to be impressed by. Then I told her I'm going through bell hook's stuff on audiobook, go off on a short tangent about how I wished I would've read her stuff years ago and how much I like her takes on toxic masculinity and how it also hurts men.

So the date ends, which I felt really good about and thought we hit it off pretty well. the next day I ask if she wants to hang out again and she tells me "I had a nice time and you seem like a decent guy but I just didn't really feel a connection, I'm sorry."

Damn. That stung a little but no big deal, I reply "Hey no worries! If you ever wanna try to hang out as just friends I'd be down" (I also talked about how much I just wanted to meet new people and make new friends on the date).

A little later curiousity got the best of me and I messaged "it's cool if you don't want to answer this but can I ask what made you feel that way?" maybe not a smart move, but again this is my first adult rejection, I felt good about the date and was pretty bummed/confused about how I misread it.

she says "idk honestly you kinda came off as performative and it just rubbed me the wrong way"

So... The thing is I was being 100% honest with her. I'm a pretty left-leaning guy and I do consider myself a feminist, I became this way in the middle of a super long relationship with someone that's never been into politics (part of why we split). I wasn't blowing smoke to get her to like me, I really was listening to the will to change earlier that day.

Do any of you think I came on too strong? Do you think a guy having progressive/lefty markers in their dating bio is a red flag, gauche or anything? I'm a little surprised that this is what hung her up and am just looking for some insight. Happy to answer any questions that didn't get answered in this already too long post!
