Venting because Jujutsufolk is so infuriating.

I made a post not too long ago in Jujutsufolk. I was asking why Kashimo slander sucks now. I brought up how saying no one loves him or how he has no feats isn’t even true and is just people saying stuff to say it at that point. I had two people try to argue this with me with one flat out saying no one loves him and that he has zero feats. I brought up Sukuna’s love speech which points to a lifetime of challengers and how that’s a valid form of love, and I pointed out his showing against Hakari and his fight against Sukuna for the feats. I brought up how Sukuna saying that Kashimo’s challengers must have been mighty/formidable and how Hakari saying he didn’t even count his win as a win are two separate validations of his showings in both of those fights, and I even brought up the 5 piece blitz he landed on Sukuna and how he was still a nightmare for Hakari even in base.

This somehow turned into bringing up Yuji landing hits and one of them personally believing that Jogo has a more impressive showing against Sukuna even though they also believed that Kashimo’s showing against Hakari is more impressive than Jogo’s entire resume, and both of them refused to acknowledge the distinction between Sukuna’s analysis on the relationship between the challenger and the challenged being a form of love and how he was wrong about his own need for love. One of them also said that Sukuna won’t acknowledge someone’s strength if they’re not fighting alone and that his only real criterion is solitude even though Higuruma exists and tried to use Yuji, the one dude that Sukuna would rather die than praise, as an example.

I don’t know, some people in this fandom have a funny way of making me feel like I’ve never touched this manga.

How come Kashimo fans and Gojo fans aren’t prominent allies?

I feel like it would make the most sense since both characters are mirrors of each other. Both were the strongest of their eras, both were isolated by that strength and lamented it, both wanted someone who could actually understand them, and both ultimately ended up looking to Sukuna for that answer.

Kashimo even understood the WHY behind Gojo fighting Sukuna alone that everyone else missed so it’s not like Kashimo didn’t relate to Gojo and immediately respect the 1v1, he knew what it meant to Gojo personally.

I don’t know, it just feels like both fanbases should be getting along way more than we actually do and it feels like it would be really easy for both fanbases to get along.

Soooo, how do we think people are gonna view Kashimo after Season 4?

With manga readers we can actually compare Kashimo’s manga showing against Hakari to the small pieces we saw in the teaser, and it is painfully obvious that there is going to be a considerable Kashimo upscale. I’m wondering if manga readers might go “this showing makes his reputation a lot more believable” once we see the fight fully animated.

I’m also curious about how anime-only people will view Kashimo after season 4, since this’ll be the first time they see him fight. It’ll also be the first time they see the flashback to the Edo Period and Kashimo’s desire to fight Sukuna being said plainly to Kenjaku, maybe that’ll make anime-only watchers view him as being a pretty big deal.

SANITY CHECK! Are they being ignorant? Or am I not getting my point across properly?

Before I post the conversation I just had I wanna say that the only relation this has to Kashimo is that it happened under a post that had him as one of its main topics.

Original post

OP — Title:

“Agito would slam kashimo”

OP — Body:

“This might sound weird, but Agito’s feats are slept on. He was eating from gojo,s bleu infused punches. He also should be able to come back from any damage kashimo could deal cause he has round deer’s rct

Round deer rct might even distrupt kashimo electric cursed energy just like it did to yorozu liquid metal. And since nue is also part of the chimera. He potentially might have a resistance to electricity

Mba is a other conversation. But Agito slams base kashimo”

ME:

“MBA literally lets Kashimo fire EM beams from his palms described as vaporizing whatever they irradiate, I’m sure Agito will have tons of fun when they get Final Flashed”

OP:

“Read the post. I said base kashimo”

ME:
“Put it in your title then, don’t put it at the very end of your post. You can’t just make a general claim like that in your title and in the information you used and then have your distinction be at the very end.”

OTHER GUY:

“Dudes complaining that he has to read the post😭
This is the most jjk fan comment I’ve ever seen”

ME:

“I’m not complaining about reading don’t even try that. I’m saying the title makes a broader claim than what the post actually defends. <— (to be fair this isn’t what I meant to say, I meant to say that the title and the paragraphs make a broader claim than the redone restatement at the bottom is saying.)

It’s not my fault the post reads like it hard pivots at the last second. He knew to make the distinction at the very end, so why not in the title or when he says ‘he (Agito) should be able to come back from any damage Kashimo could deal.’”

OTHER GUY:

“You’re acting like this post is a massive piece, it takes you max 20 seconds to read it. You didn’t read the post properly or skimmed over it, made a comment that this topic wasn’t talking about then complained that OP didn’t put ‘No mba’ in bright flashing lights so you wouldn’t have to read the post”

ME:

“I skimmed over the last small bit, that’s it, because it wasn’t part of his other two informative paragraphs. That way of reading is not exclusive to just me. Many people can just tell at a glance that the end piece of someone’s point is, more likely than not, them restating their claim that they made without actually reading it.

I don’t need bright flashing lights don’t be a prick like that. It’s still the post structure being very general in the title and in both paragraphs and then only sneaking in the distinction at the end when he’s restating his title’s claim with a different claim.”

ME:

“It’s not like I sat there and started calling this guy the worst person in the world, I just said you can’t do that and then had to explain to you why, because some people do skim over the claim being restated at the end after all the information has been given and it’s weird to only put the distinction there. I’m not trying to be mean to this guy and I apologize if it comes off like that, I’m just explaining why it can be accidentally misleading because it definitely did that with me.

I literally see another person saying ‘yes Agito beats all Kashimo versions’ so I’m not just some one-off fluke, that actually proved my point on how some people are gonna read this.”

(I just realized I forgot to put this under Random Stuff 😭)

Am I cooked for thinking that manga Kashimo vs Sukuna and manga Mahoraga vs Sukuna are structurally similar?

This post will be long, so please bear with me, I will try to make it as not boring as possible.

I had an argument with someone I’m not going to name, and I am genuinely asking for a sanity check because I feel like they completely misread what I’m trying to say.

And before anyone assumes this is blind Kashimo wank, I consider myself one of the few sane Kashimo fans. I am not here to argue that he secretly beat Sukuna, that he is Gojo/Sukuna tier, that he pushed fresh Heian Sukuna, or that he is somehow special grade. I think he is strong, narratively important, and massively overslandered, but I will not pretend like he won a fight that he clearly lost.

My original point I had made was never “Kashimo = Mahoraga.”

My actual point was about how similar Mahoraga vs Sukuna and Kashimo vs Sukuna are in the manga, how little justice both fights were done, and how Mahoraga’s anime upscale could point towards Kashimo getting a similar treatment later.

In the manga, Mahoraga vs Sukuna is short. Mahoraga lands one clean hit, Sukuna figures out adaptation, realizes slashes are no longer the correct win condition, then uses Malevolent Shrine and fire to end it. It is not along high-diff war in the manga. The anime is what turned it into a giant cinematic boss fight.

Kashimo vs Sukuna is also short. Kashimo gets his pressure sequence on injured Meguna, Sukuna reincarnates, and then Kashimo gets destroyed by Heian Sukuna. Again, I am not pretending Kashimo made the fight hard for Sukuna. He didn’t. But the manga also clearly does not give Kashimo’s technique or his fight much room to breathe.

That is the similarity I was pointing out.

Both were introduced or built up as a challenge with unique mechanics.
Both had fights against Sukuna that were very short in the manga.
Both were easy for Sukuna.
Both deserved more choreography and spectacle than the manga gave them.

The difference is that Mahoraga already got that justice in the anime. His short fight became one of the most insane fights in the series. Kashimo has not gotten his anime version yet, so people judge him only by the brief manga version while remembering Mahoraga through the expanded anime version.

That is what I mean by pattern recognition.

If Mahoraga’s manga fight could be expanded that heavily, then I do not think it is unreasonable to think Kashimo vs Sukuna could also be expanded. Not because Kashimo is equal to Mahoraga, but because both fights have a lot of space to show what Gege rushed through.

The argument somehow turned into a bunch of side quests that had very little to do with my actual point.

It became about “Kashimo not being special grade,” even though I never claimed he was because that needs specific requirements.

It became about “Kashimo third-partying Sukuna” even though Gojo vs Sukuna was over. Kashimo did not jump into an active fight, he jumped in afterwards and Sukuna even accepted this second fight. Plus the dude I was arguing with disproved his own third-partying claim by pulling up the definition.

It became about “Kashimo landing 3 hits vs 5 hits.” Because apparently he thought I was lying when I said Kashimo hit him 5 times before he reincarnated and decided to try and nitpick it as much as humanly possible and only conceded once I pulled up the manga panels.

It became about him bringing up “injured Meguna” out of nowhere as a gotcha attempt, even though I had already acknowledged injured Meguna from the beginning. That context was already a part of my claim.

It became about “whether Sukuna’s conversation with Kashimo counts.” Which I didn’t even understand at first because it makes not logical sense for his post-death conversation, or any of the post-death conversations to just be completely fake.

And then somehow they tried to frame my side point about Kashimo landing hits as “being my main point just so that I could call Kashimo strong.” Which was never my original point, it only came up because they were being snarky about what Kashimo even did and then disputed the hit count.

My main point never changed.

Manga Mahoraga vs Sukuna and manga Kashimo vs Sukuna are way more similar in structure than people admit, and Mahoraga’s anime upscale is the reason people no longer talk about his manga showing the same way they talk about Kashimo’s.

Am I cooked for seeing that pattern? Or do people genuinely judge Kashimo’s manga fight more harshly because Mahoraga already got his anime glow-up?
