Career suggestions

Hi everyone,

I have my bachelors in social science (useless) I only got it because I wanted to be a lawyer but changed my mind.
I have post degree in business project management, Pmp, agile certified

I worked in the top healthcare org in the US on projects however contract ended after 3 years

I am looking for more stable career path in healthcare And is not hard to find a job in.

I wanted to do nursing but my 2 brothers (who are both doctors) said I will struggle because it’s emotionally draining and I am very sensitive so I don’t know if I can tolerate seeing sick people without being in tears everyday which no patient wants to see lol.

Any suggestions please? I don’t mind going back to school but it needs to be worth it

pmp

i am genuinely getting so sick of studying for the pmp.. because at this point is it even worth it? Does it really help you with your career, even if i decide to move away from project management into something else? Project management jobs are so hard to find. I am in the healthcare sector of project management

Need input on new career path

What healthcare is most stable long term

I’m trying to make a smart long term career decision rather than collecting another degree that won’t actually improve my job security.

My background:
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Science
• Diploma in Business Project Management
• Currently completing my PMP
• Several years of healthcare IT experience at Kaiser (big healthcare org)
• Experience with EMR/EHR implementations, workflows, healthcare systems, stakeholder management and process improvement

My biggest concern is **job stability**. I have worked in project management, but I’m tired of project based roles where the project finishes and the position or contract disappears. I’m looking for a healthcare career that organizations need continuously, preferably a permanent operational role.

I also do **not** want to become a bedside nurse or work directly with sick patients given I would be too emotional for that.

I’m currently considering:
Health Systems Analyst / Application Analyst / EHR Analyst

Healthcare Operations or Administration
Health Informatics

Healthcare Privacy / Compliance / Data Governance
Public Health Administration

Health Policy / Program Administration

I’m considering completing a one year Digital Health or Health Informatics certificate after my PMP, but I’m open to other education if it leads to significantly better stability.

For people actually working in these areas:
Which career has the best long term job security over the next 10 to 20 years?

Which roles are usually permanent rather than contract?
What is the realistic salary range?

How difficult is it to break into the field?
Have you experienced layoffs?
Which field has the strongest advancement opportunities?
Which skills, certifications or additional education would you recommend?
Are these careers transferable between Canada and the United States?
If you were in my position and wanted **stability first, good income second,** which direction would you choose?

For those that have taken the PMP NEW EXAM, what practice exam questions did you do? I am doing study hall. Do you suggest other practice exams I should purchase that are close to the exam?

Looking for a highly experienced EB 2 NIW lawyer who also understands TN denials and Canadian border issues

Hi everyone,

I am a Canadian citizen who previously received a three year TN approval but was recently denied for a new TN application in July for a new position.

I am now considering applying for an EB 2 NIW and want a lawyer who is genuinely knowledgeable about both NIW petitions and TN or border issues.

Chen Immigration did not accept me
Ellis Porter accepted my NIW case, but I did not feel the process was attentive or personalized enough, so I am looking for other recommendations.

Has anyone worked with a responsive lawyer who handled both areas and was personally involved in the case?

Genuine client experiences would be greatly appreciated. Please no recommendations for Chen or Ellis Porter.

Case have approximately eight years of project management experience, including several years in healthcare IT with organizations such as Kaiser Permanente and Mercy Ships. My work has focused on healthcare technology implementations, workflow improvement, governance and multi-site projects. I do not have publications or citations. I previously held a three-year TN, but a recent TN application was denie

Tn denial

If I got denial
Can I request information online to see the notes they made ? Freedom of information

Am I able to do so? Has anyone done it and if so was it detailed? And do officers know I requested it? Because I want to know exactly why I got denied even tho I had a TN before for 3 years I am utterly confused

TN denial!!!! I am shocked

I am incredibly shocked and so confused someone help me understand.

I was approved for a TN prior for 3 years for a healthcare management consultant for a reputable healthcare org,
My contract ended and I went back to Canada for 2 years

Then I got a new offer letter for healthcare management consultant for another reputable healthcare company in Us

I had all my paperwork

  1. offer letter with duties
  2. 5 year of experience and their reference letter
  3. post degree in business pm
  4. signed offer letter with consulting duties
  5. lawyers letter explaining how I qualify
  6. and the relationship master of agreement between the healthcare client and the consulting firm

And they denied me yesterday and then today. Yesterday they told me they want to see the master of agreement and today they denied me saying my duties show it’s more of a management position than consulting even tho my role CLEARLY mentioned I will be doing recommendations, identifying, analysis, facilitating- consulting language that I will be doing.

The officer also said that the lawyers letter holds no merit because they can say anything (which rly confused me).

I have to tell my healthcare org I can’t start Monday in fact I can’t start at all

I am traumatized to do TN again, literally crying in my bed writing this (sorry for the long msg) I feel hopeless

It was finally a good paying job too ($100) an hour I did everything right, and was denied.

I am losing hope and I want a diff type of visa, TN has become too hard to tolerate.

Please any advice ????
