Why everyone in Reddit is telling me to read

Jane Eyre. I joined reddit like 20 days ago and whenever i go search for a good book to read i see many people recommending Jane Eyre. Can anyone tell me more about it ?

I asked my mom to buy me ASOIAF books she said ok at first but the next day she said she can't do it, it looks as through she googled about it, as she is a vicious reader like me she said I'm just fifteen and I can't read that help me to convince my mom.
