Planted some catnip seeds on my balcony 23 years ago. Nobody within a 5 mile radius will ever need to plant catnip again, forever.

Ants farming aphids for their honeydew on my cucumber plants. I’ve heard about this but never saw it in person. What most impresses me is how resourceful they are: until last week, they’d been relying on food scraps in a compost bin. Now that it’s gone, they immediately pivoted to the aphid business. I respect the ants but now they’ve got a singular interest in keeping these aphids safe, while I just want cucumbers. Wondering what kind of arrangement could be reached with my intelligent neighbors 🐜🐜🐜
