Don't need soil OR water!
Thriving in the UK drought whilst cultivated plants wilt.
Acworth, GA
I took this a few years ago and finally found it again to post! They were so healthy, lived a full season.
It was so hot in England last week that a discarded mango stone germinated in my compost bin
flowers growing in the parking lot instead of garden bed
Jade in Peru
I take such good care of my Jade plants. Get the right dirt, sunshine and water and turns out all you have to do is put it in a bucket and stick it out the door.
Madagascar palm 10+ years same pot
I was holding out for a bigger pot but it kept falling over and it really sucks picking this thing up.
Somewhat new plant, root bound with some sort of film
When I potted this critter up into a much larger pot with so much more soil, I noticed that the root ball seemed to be stuck to some kind of film that had the physical feel of styrofoam but half the thickness of newspaper. It had a rubbery crunch like styrofoam when you'd press on it, but seemed to only be where the roots touched the plastic of the pot. Sweet Williams, I believe. I didn't really do much because I was afraid it'd damage the root system. The film might be the roots themselves(?) the soil was exposed where the drainage holes of the pot were. Should I go back and dig it back up and massage the roots a bit or is it fine as it is? And what in the world is this film?
Environmental friendly car
Noticed some plants growing on a friend’s car
Growing between cement and fake grass
Guys this fake grass is PLASTIC. Which btw I hate, no need for fake grass on a playground, I saved a firefly that was stuck in it recently, but where’s the soil…
