Codiaeum variegatum 'Gold Dust'. How long can it stay there? Would be nice if it stayed there ,for ever,"

How this plant lives there?.... It hasn't even light! And no soil!

I know calathea orbifolia gets big but how big? From the pot is 50 cm to the shelf. And which alternative plants to add if the space is not enough. ( Plants which almost fill up the whole space)?

I don't think she will get higher than this,but wider .

I want plants growing all year round in my room, summer temperature ~21°C and winter temperature 16°C (night) to 20°C (day). I have a good light in the room and you can also ,,change" the plants which are growing there already.
