Wants someone to take care chickens and homeschool their kids for FREE

People immediately began pointing out that not paying someone for working is in fact *illegal* and someone even pointed out that live-ins often make more than a typical nanny bc the situation greatly benefits the family. In previous posts within the last year she was offering to pay someone… $15/hr 🤯 also her other posts point strongly to these kids being homeschooled which to me sounds like they’re also looking for a teacher. One of the comments under this ad below was “be so for real girl” 😂 I hope these people finally figure things out.

🌿 Looking for Our Person: Live-In Childcare & Housing Exchange — (location)🌻

Are you looking for an affordable place to live in (HCOL town/state)… and do you happen to love kids, animals, gardens, the outdoors, and a little healthy family chaos? We might be looking for each other. 😊

We’re offering a private furnished bedroom + designated bathroom + utilities/Wi-Fi in our home in exchange for approximately 18-20 hours of childcare per week.

Your room is on the first floor, separate from our family bedrooms upstairs, with a large closet and bathroom right next door.

And then there’s the household…

🐶 1 dog

🐱 1 cat

🐓 18 chickens

🐭 1 pet mouse

🌱 A garden

👶🏼👦🏼🧒🏼Kids

…and usually some project we probably didn't need to start. 😂

We’re a holistic, naturally health-minded family who loves being outside, gardening, animals, wellness, faith, and letting kids experience plenty of real-world childhood.

Bonus points if you grew up on a farm, love animals, or have secretly always wanted to homestead.

We travel a few times a year, and during those trips we'd ask our live-in helper to care for the animals and garden, so being genuinely comfortable with animals is important.

✨ Approximately 20 hrs/week

✨ Christian values

✨ 4 weeks of time off built in each year

✨ Longer-term arrangement preferred

✨ Background check + references required

✨ Not on-call when you're off

You don't need to be a professional nanny. You do need to be kind, responsible, trustworthy, and genuinely enjoy children and animals.

If you're thinking, “Honestly, 18 chickens and a pet mouse sounds like exactly the kind of household I've been looking for,” we'd probably like to meet you. 😂

Message us with a little about yourself, your experience with children/animals, and why this sounds like a good fit!

Fiction about Nannies/housekeepers/hired help

Could be from the point of view of the employers or the nannies/housekeepers. Can be any genre - I feel like these usually tend towards mystery/thrillers which is totally fine, though a long time ago I read The Undomestic Goddess which I remember as being funny. Really open to anything, just not nonfiction unless it’s really good and reads like fiction. Thank you!
