8 Days of 7oh in My Rearview. Could Use Some Suboxone Suggestions!

I needed the Suboxone to quit. I could not make it past 12 hours post 7 dose without the subs. But I finally made it and I'm working on the subs now - have tapered down to 3mg/pd split am and pm. I learned the hard way that there is no such thing as an "aggressive taper and hop off the subs" for me. Day 2 (Day 6 of the 7oh quit) after stopping the subs woke me up right in the middle of acute wd. Pissed me off more than anything, thought I was going to die, could barely walk more than 5 steps without falling to hands and knees for dry heaves. Went to ER which was useless. They are completely unprepared to treat any sort of drug withdrawal conditions. So, lesson learned - take into account the long-assed half-life. Went home from the hospital, took 2mg subs in the afternoon to knock it back, then 1.75 mg the next day am and pm. Today is the second day of that dosage and am planning a 0.25 mg decrease tomorrow (am and pm).

Is it too late for me to do a long, slow subs taper? Say, something like a 0.25 mg decrease every 2 days and then jump off? Or is getting the shot the way I need to go? Tbh, I'm sick of being a slave to any drugs - including my diabetes drug. My GP also prescribed helper meds clonidine, gabapentin, and promethyzine - but I've no clue how to use them to ease subs withdrawals.

Please let me know what you think. Don't berate me for going the subs path - it's already done, has led to a 7oh-free path forward from here, and I could not have managed to do it without them.

Thanks in advance for any advice you have! I am so grateful to this subreddit! I've had the page open 24/7 since my last dose of 7 and you all have been my lifeline since I live alone. I am so appreciative.
