Is not the way a scam works?
I saw this quote posted by someone.
He says, "(WHAT IF) There should be a website where you post your wishes and rich people who don't know what to do with their money give you the gift anonymously."
It is a great WHAT IF, but also makes me wonder, is it not the way a scam works?
Someone assures you a huge payout/ bonus/ lottery.
I know, the person adds 'anonymously' in his what-if scenario. But, answer me, a rich man may send you something, but he needs your address to send you.
He also needs to know that the gift he sent has been sent to the correct recipient.
So, now all you need to do is share your personal information like your name, address, probably identity information to verify at the time of delivery and maybe pay for shipping charges.
Boom! Why does my account statement show so many charges?
I looked at it in a logical way, rather than a sentimental way. I am open for discussion.
TL;DR: A what-if scenario where rich people send you gifts anonymously, looks similar to how scams work.
