Dude is making sure the message lands with everyone, not just his supporters or people who already agree with him.
He's simplifying the language and the delivery so it cuts across demographics, social classes, educational backgrounds, and different levels of intellect.
Whether you're a lawyer, a student, a tricycle driver, a CEO, or someone who only casually follows the news, the point should still be easy to understand. That's actually a common communication strategy: if your message is too technical or full of jargon, you lose a huge part of your audience.
Love him or hate him, communicating in a way that ordinary people can easily grasp is often more effective than sounding intellectually sophisticated but only being understood by a select few.
