I think something might be wrong whit my sisters child and I'm scared to bring it up.. what i have to do?
Ok so my sister has a little boy, he’s almost 2 and we see each other pretty often.
Lately I’ve been noticing some stuff thats kinda worrying me. He’s really slow compared to other kids his age, doesnt react much sometimes and drools alot. I know toddlers develop at different speeds and all that, but something just feels off. I made the mistake of googling it and watching a bunch of videos about developmental delays. And now I’m freaking myself out because some of the signs look really similar. The thing is, my sister has never said anything about it. Idk if she’s already talked to his pediatrician or if she thinks everything is normal.
And I feel like such an asshole even writing this because I love that little guy so much... We’re pretty close but I just cant imagine asking her if she thinks something might be wrong with her son. Like how the hell do you even bring that up without hurting someones feelings?
What if she already knows and just doesnt wanna talk about it? Or what if I’m completely wrong and make her worry for no reason? But then I keep thinking, what if I’m right and we’re just wasting precious time when he could already be getting the help he needs? Thats honestly what scares me the most.
My husband says I should mind my own business but I also feel guilty just ignoring it.Has anyone actually been in this situation? Like would you say something to your sister or keep your mouth shut?
I swear being an aunt is harder than I thought sometimes.
