Hello all

Just started intern year last week and my first rotation is surgery. A little afraid of the workflow of it and how I’ll be perceived. Surgery wasn’t my best rotation in med school and didn’t think I’d see it again matching into FM

So far the surgery team has been very nice but nervous about clinic and the rest of how it’ll go. And how I’ll be perceived.

Any advice for a dumb confused intern? Will they be expecting a lot from me as an FM intern?

One of my college friends came to visit me and my gf in our new place. She’s moving to our city soon and wanted to check out some places to live.

Anyways we had her over for dinner and she began talking about old college drama. Things that are 5 years or plus

She then bought up this girl who I briefly was seeing way before my gf. And she mentioned how that girl was a player and said “she even played you”

Now that comment kinda threw me off cause I did tell my gf all my past. But I didn’t like the comment cause it wasn’t true and makes me look bad too

So I said “no one plays me if anything I play them”

And my friend was like “yeah you are right”

It was super uncomfortable and when my friend left I apologized to my gf for what went down. My gf was very understanding and I later texted my friend to leave the past to where it is and not bring it up again.

Do you think I handled this right?
