Denial

I’m a nurse in an Emergency Department and I’m here to ask some questions to those suffering from CHS.
I take care of several CHS patients every week. I can usually tell when someone is CHS when I first meet them. Extreme abdominal pain, cyclic vomiting, and they usually have a very strong marijuana odor. I’m not generalizing and I have never written someone off based on what they smell like. We will always check for other causes.
Any way

Why do most CHS patient deny this diagnosis so much? It seems like they don’t believe the doctor when he tells them what’s going on. Which leads to my next question

why not stop? Usually CHS patients come to the ER several times for the exact same thing. I know this is sometimes because they don’t believe us, but wouldn’t it be worth just not smoking? Considering how severe the symptoms are?

Side note: please don’t lie about your usage. We do blood work and a ct scan on almost every patient with abdominal pain, if it’s something else, we will know. We are not out to get you or punish you for using marijuana. We really don’t care what drugs anyone uses, And we’re not the police.

Another side note: Ask for a med called Droperidol, It works wonders for the nausea and will help you get some sleep.

Thank you

Where do you start

Scratch golfers that started playing as an adult,
Where do you start? Were you always pretty good? Or did you start like the rest of us shooting 90-100s and work really hard. Sometimes I feel like all the work I put in is useless, it feels like I hit a plateau.
Give me some advice
